Not long after Lorraine sat next to me and helped me with the research.

Ed: Hey, girls

Ingrid: Yeah?

Ed came over with the recording device and sat at the table.

Lorraine: Yup

Ed: You're not gonna believe this but Carolyn's voice didn't record

Ingrid: What do you mean, dad?

As the word came out of my mouth silence filled the room.

Ingrid: Sorry, I didn't mean say that so-

Ed: No it's okay, Lorraine and I have been talking and we would love for you to call us mom and dad cause we feel like you are our daughter

Lorraine: You are our daughter even though weren't not related, you're still our daughter

Ingrid: I just felt weird calling you guys that for some reason but I would love to call you mom and dad

They both smiled then Ed chuckled. Lorraine kissed my head and brushed her hand on top of it.

Ed: Okay, now listen

Ed played the recorder. Through the recorder

Ed: My name is Ed Warren and I'm with my daughter Ingrid, it's November 1st, 1971. I'm sitting here with Carolyn Perron, who, with her family has been experiencing

Ingrid: Go ahead

Silence.

Ingrid: From the first occurrence

Silence again. Ed stopped the recorder.

Ed: Nothin' the whole time, I don't know, you two find anything?

Lorraine: Lots. I mean, it's no wonder they're going through what they are

I handed Ed a picture.

Ingrid: That's the original farmhouse. It was built in 1863 by a man named Jedson Sherman. Who was married to a woman named Bathsheba. Dad, she's related to Mary Towne Estye. She was one of the women accused of witchcraft in Salem. She was hung during the trials

Ed: Wow

Lorraine: After Bathsheba married Jedson, they had a baby and when the baby was 7 days old, Jedson caught her sacrificing it in front of the fireplace. She ran out to that tree by the dock, climbed up, proclaimed her love to satan and cursed anyone who tried to take her land, and hung herself

Ingrid: Time of death was pronounced at 3:07 in the morning

Ed: Well, that explains a few things

Lorraine: Yeah, so does this

Lorraine showed a picture to Ed.

Lorraine: Her last name's Walker. She loved there in the '30s. She had a boy named Rory who mysteriously disappeared in the woods then she killed herself in the cellar and that's not all

I reached for one of the maps and laid it out.

Ingrid: So, what was the original 200-Acre farm has since been subdivided and solf off. There was another boy who drowned in a pond here

I pointed to a place on the map.

Ingrid: He lived in a house over here and a woman who worked as a maid in a neighboring home, she committed suicide too

Ed: People who took her land
