"Come on Mirage, don't lose him!" I encouraged the autobot as we revved down the road. A few yards ahead Bee was revving around a corner.
"I'm hurrying, I'm hurrying," I could practically hear Mirage rolling his eyes as he sped on. "But we can't get too close or else they'll get suspicious."
Mirage sped up slightly, still keeping his distance from the Camaro in front of us.
We turned down a residential neighborhood that looked slightly familiar to me.
"Looks like he's stopping," Mirage observed, "I'm pulling over here." He parked on the edge of the curb by a fire hydrant.
Ahead Bee-or rather Mr. Witwicky drove up the driveway to a brown house that looked quite familiar to me.
"Must be where he lives," Mirage added.
"Yep," I watched as the boy got out of his car. Instantly a dog came running up and barking at his heels. Stupid Mojo.
"Mirage, status?"
Optimus' voice crackled over the radio.
"We have the target in our sights," the autobot responded in what sounded like a fake spy voice. "Our next move?"
There was a distinct sigh on the other end. "Surveillance mode. Then, tonight-we move into action."
Switching off his radio, Mirage groaned. "Awww, surveillance? Dude that is SO boring."
Glancing out the front window, I rolled my eyes. Then I realized something. "Um, Mirage. Bee is gone."
"Wait, what?" the autobot's voice became alarmed.
The driveway to the house was empty-both Sam and Bumblebee were gone.
I scanned the area anxiously. Last minute I noticed the bumper of a yelling camaro making a left turn down the street. "There he is, he is heading down the street."
"Hang on," Mirage revved his engine. "We're going after them."
Before I could brace myself, I was thrown back in my seat. Mirage shot forward-definitely breaking the speed limit as he zoomed down the road.
"Wahoo!" the autobot screamed. "Just like old times, eh? Remember, that time on the bridge in Brooklyn?"****
I hastily made sure my seatbelt was buckled. "Yeah except this time there are no cops and we are on a residential street!"
Mirage laughed nervously. "Heheh not so sure about the cops part being true,"
There was a sudden chirp of sirens.
"Looks like we got company."
"Mirage...." Eyes narrowing, I glanced up at the rearview mirror as Mirage adjusted it. Sure enough a cop car was pulling up straight behind us, blue and red lights flashing.
Oh this was just great.
"Okay Mirage, you better pull over," I instructed with folded arms. "You'll have to get us out of this mess."
In reply Mirage began to slow down then all of a sudden he jerked forward, wheels spinning up smoke as he veered a sharp right turn.
"Mirage!!" clutching my armrest, I shrieked. "What the hell are you doing?"
"Getting us out of this mess," the autobot stated matter of factly. He laughed. "Hang on."
"Ahhhh!" I screamed as the autobot floored it, driving like a maniac, swerving between parked cars on the street and civilians.
