•Arthur's POV•My vision blurs as I stare up at the sky above.
It's amazing how time flies so freely when you're fighting for survival.
The evening sky is painted variations of blues, oranges and pinks as the sun starts to end its course across the vast sky. The clouds above moved at a snails pace, slowly but surely moving along in a peaceful haze.
I could only wish god would swap our places.
A few feet away, just below me is Uto, falling in what felt like slow motion. Time seemed both relevant and irrelevant as we approach the spike covered ground. I knew that Uto was still alive, his magic has yet to dissipate, hence why the ground is still riddled with his black, jagged spikes.
Sylvie lay in her draconic form limply below. Dread filled my chest as I prayed for her survival. She needs to live; this fight wasn't hers.
It wasn't anyones fight except for those who'd started it all.
My body felt numb. Everything, especially my core seemed to throb harshly with the backlash of mana over-usage. I knew I couldn't stop or slow my fall. And from this height..
...I probably wasn't going to make it out of this.
My heart seized in my chest, slow in beating but still beating nonetheless. How many times have I nearly died in this life?? More than I could count on both my hands probably.
So this is the end, huh?
Once less obstacle for Dicathen to deal with.
One less dangerous being to harm my family.
My friends.
My love.
Tess, Sylvie? Forgive me for this.
Suddenly, pain erupts throughout my body like lava exploding from a volcano. Searing, tearing and ripping me apart.
One last look of the calm, steady clouds in the sky above was all I needed to see before everything went dark once more.
I'll admit it...I'm truly afraid of the darkness this time around.
Please.
Please let them be okay without me.

|Aya's POV|
I stood frozen in place, staring at the utter decimation before me.
What was once apart of a thriving forest is now desolate. Now in its place is a forest of jagged spears made of a black metal. They tore from the ground and stood tall against the landscape. The smell of metal wafts through the air along with the smell of burnt wood.
But that's not what froze my body to the ground where I stood.
A large black dragon lay amongst the spears of black metal, and just a few meters away are two bodies.
