•Virion's POV•

The floor boards below creaked with every step I took as I paced back and fourth within the teleportation gate room of the floating castle.

My son, daughter-in-law and my little one stood patiently against the wall behind me. I could feel their gazes follow my every move as medical personnel and emitters of the highest rank ran about, preparing every necessary equipment they would need.

From the way Aya had broke down so quickly, I could tell the brat's situation is dire. Enough to warrant the presence of both Lord Aldir and Lord Windsom, who were both in the meeting room with myself and the other council members when Aya called.

I made sure to immediately contact the boy's parents after demanding all medical personnel to prepare a room for inevitable surgery and emitters in the gate room. His parents should be on their way here soon, while his little sister stood beside Alduin and Merial silently. I could see my little ones hands shaking as Merial placed a hand on her shoulder, trying to calm her as much as she could.

My attention turns to the portal, which visibly warps to life as six emitters step through the portal, hovering and tending to An unconscious Arthur and Sylvie...

Arthur lay strapped to a medical bed. His prone form bloodied from head to toe as more emitters rush to aid the others. I stood frozen in place as they rushed the boy and his bond past. Sylvie slowly coming into consciousness, while Arthur lay limply on the bloodied bed, his life fluid spilling over at an alarming rate. His skin as pale as a white sheet, unmoving, barely breathing.

If he was breathing at all.

The emitters crowding him moved quickly, trying their best to stabilize him as the moves him along, but as one of the many medical personnel moved away...

I could see an emitter removing gauze from the gaping hole in his abdomen.

Another hole in his leg.

More near his chest and two in each shoulder.

Just what the hell happened to him??

As they roll him away, a choked sob catches my attention. Turning towards where I heard the noise, my eyes land on little Eleanor. Her hand covering her mouth as tears flood down her face like a cascading waterfall. Merial kneels at the poor girls side, taking her into a hug as Alduin stands stock still, seemingly in a trance like state as his face went pale.

My attention then turns to Tessia after hearing a loud thump. She's now on her knees, tears silently falling down her face as all the blood rushes away from her face. Her eyes wide with more tears gathering and spilling over. I could visibly see her breath hitch as she tried to hold back a sob of her own. I quickly rush over to her, taking her into my arms, feeling her body shake and tremble under the weight of her sobs. My heart clenches tightly in my chest as a ball forms in my own throat.

"I'll be helping the emitters stabilize the boy. Windsom, notify Lord Indrath of the current situation." Aldir spoke. His voice is heavy in the now silent room, the havoc having left the room. Windsom nods and quickly pulls a disk like device from the inner pocket of his coat, setting it on the floor before letting a drop of his blood fall into the middle of the disk.

In a flash of light, he is gone.

My heart sunk to the bottom of my stomach after having seen the current state of Arthur. My blood ran cold.
