•Third person POV•Lady Myre's descent into Dicathen was a controversial topic amongst both the Asuras and the lessers of Dicathen for months.
It showed everyone just how important Arthur Leywin was in this war. A war that was still raging on, causing death and destruction at every waking moment. As the weeks roll by, it's brought along dread, anxiety and hopelessness.
It's been weeks since lady Myre had come to heal the boy wonder, and several hours since she'd started. The reconstruction of his bone and flesh was a long and detrimental task. It was easier said then done.
Especially with the unknown Vritra mana arts that plagued Arthur's prone body.
Somehow, even after reconstructing his flesh, the blackened mana would degrade his tissue. Hence why the female leader of the Asuras was having so much trouble. It got to the point where she had to use her aetheric arts in the vivum genus to remove the decay mana arts from Arthur.
And much to everyone's dismay, even after the successful treatment, no one knew when or if he would be able to wake up. The decaying mana had already done more damage than what was originally thought.
His mana veins were corrupted.
Leading to his core being partially corrupted.
"Even if he did wake up, it's most probable that he...will no longer be able to utilize mana anymore." Those words from Lady Myre struck deep into everyone present in the room.
"...The damage done to him by that foreign mana is significant. And it was tenacious enough to not be completely destroyed by my aether arts. If the boy has time....he doesn't have much of it." Her solemn tone and daunting words shook everyone to their core.
Now, with a somber and dreadful silence that seemed near deafening to the inhabitants of the room, Lady Myre was escorted back to her homelands.
Everyone stood stock still, the floor seeming to lock their feet in place. All except Tessia, who turns to her fiancé. Her footfalls are nearly inaudible as she comes to stand at her lovers bedside. Her dulled eyes traced over his features. His skin still ghostly pale, with darkened skin beneath his eyes. Body unmoving except for the slow and heavy rise and fall of his chest.
She didn't realize she was crying until a single tear drop falls onto Arthur's cheek, rolling down. Leaving a small wet trail in its wake.
Behind her, Ellie falls to her knee's. Her wide brown eyes filling with tears as her bond moves to comfort her. Both Alice and Reynolds continue to stare in the space where the Asura who'd treated their son, once stood. Guilt eating away at them, not having had the chance to come to their son. The chance to reconcile with him, to see his bright smile again.
Virion turns to his elven counterparts; Alduin and Merial. Merial, who's tears are ever flowing, while her husband takes her into his hold. Upon seeing his face, Virion notices the pained grimace on his sons face.
No one within the room could bring themselves to think of the current war. Instead, all their thoughts centered around the young man that has brought significant change with his existence. How Arthur Leywin changed the self image of everyone in the room.
How he brought happiness and unforgettable memories to everyone he'd ever known and loved in this life.
How selfless he was.
How loving he was.
Yet none of them were ready to say goodbye.
He's done his part, although it may be a bit incomplete. It was done nonetheless.
'Maybe it is time for him to rest.' Virion thought as he walks over to his former disciple, who looked neither bothered nor in pain as he had during his treatment. Though, he paused upon seeing the look on his granddaughters face.
Devastated.
Completely devastated.
His heart leaps to his throat at seeing such an expression on such a young face. His granddaughter's nonetheless. Tessia stood silently. No longer trembling. Her body was completely lax.
As if she'd given up on existing.
As if all the life she's ever had was snatched away from her.
'...She'll still have Sylvie..' Virion thought as a desperate attempt to calm himself.
While Arthur may not survive, Sylvie would. She may be in a coma like state for the time being, she would wake up soon.
Yet everyone knew, especially Tessia, that the little girl would not be okay. Not when her papa is dying.
Not when he's already so close to calling it quits.
In this silent room, it was oddly loud.
Loud with the silent prayers for the boy wonder.
