(Saki: I got scolded by my friend for not updating my story (┬┬﹏┬┬) She is now considering me as a bad person because I make my readers wait. So, here you go~)

The Duke couldn't help but look at his youngest son who was busy talking nonstop.

Normally, this son of his bore a tired or 'doesn't give a shit' look. He didn't like too much of anything. He liked simple things. He was easy-going and too carefree. He didn't talk much with him and preferred to maintain a distance from his own brothers.

That son of his is now sitting in front of him and talking without a break. His son was the one who suggested having tea with him for the first time ever after giving him and his brothers a second chance.

(Saki: Hey, come on! That sentence sounds as if you're talking about the duke's brothers, not Kei's!!

Keira: *Done with her shits* You're the one narrating here...

Saki: ...Oh-)

He didn't expect him to come to him and ask him out first.

He knew that he had hurt his son. Yeah, maybe even abused him. But he tried to ignore that. He wanted to work hard for the second chance that he was given. He knew that he could never erase those terrifying memories from his mind. They have hurt him and they know it. No matter how much they try to shake it off, they can't change it. Never.

But they're trying hard. And they will work hard. To replace those terrible memories with beautiful ones...

Duke Claude knows that their involvement sometimes annoys Keira. But they still... try to be a better family for the person they have hurt...

"What's wrong, papa?"

Keira asked the duke as he looked like he was absorbed deep into thinking something.

The duke shook his head to get rid of his thoughts and smiled warmly at his son who was looking adorable while eating cake.

"Nothing, dear."

*Munching on some cookies* "Want some?"

"Sure."

The duke gladly accepted his son's offer and ate some desserts there. He didn't have a sweet tooth but he did have the heart to reject him.

Thus, the father-son bonding passed on a warm evening just like that.

I know it's too short but please bear with it. I lose interest easily and you could that the same thing happened with this story. I have ideas for this story but not enough energy. But don't you worry! I'll finish this story even if it takes me a lifetim-

Keira: Life is short.

Oh, shut it! So are you!!

Keira: ...
