Loving can hurt sometimes

Natsu left for a mission and hasn't been back for a while. I'm really worried for him and it makes me upset. I haven't heard from him for a while. I sighed, tucked away in the corner of the guild.

But it's the only thing that I know

When it gets hard

You know it can get hard sometimes

It is the only thing that makes us feel alive

I hope he's alright. I've been dating him for a year now. He went on a mission without me out of fear I'll get hurt. He's gotten really overprotective lately. Happy says it's just a phase and he'll grow out of it. I just wish he'd understand that I really need to make sure he's okay.

I pulled out the small picture of us at a festival. His arm lazily swung over my shoulder. Our faces lit up in a smile. My chocolate eyes opened wide. A teddy bear tucked under my arm.

We looked so happy then. So peaceful. So in love.

I tucked our picture back into my pocket. I was acting like he was dead. He wasnt dead. I, Lucy Heartfilia, felt in my heart he wasnt dead.

I like his smile. His goofy childish smile that reminds me he's not yet grown up. It's okay too, I like his immature personality.

So, I'll sit and wait. He'll be home soon and I'll run straight into his arms. In his arms, everything will be right. Safe, warm, and loving. Everything will be perfect.

We can go out, and I'll cook for him, everything will be awesome and perfect. I know it will. I'll convince him to take me on a mission too. A small smile made it's way to my lips as I imagined perfect little scenarios.

I ran my thumb over the picture. It was tucked away and out of danger. I ordered a strawberry milkshake and sipped it eagerly. Nice and tasty.

I remember when everyone thought Lisanna would tear us apart. But her, herself, had been shipping us together also. Constantly begging me to make my move.

Then there came our first date. We were both dressed up. And everything was good. Until we had a mega epic food fight in a fancy restaurant. Laughing, we were forced out of the place. We took a nice stroll in food stained clothes.

Then there was our first fight. I forgot what it was about, probably something really stupid. But he ended up leaving the apartment and around midnight, I looked for him. Feeling bad about everything I said. I searched up and down for my pink headed boyfriend. When I couldn't find him, I cried at the bridge. He found me, hugged me, and we both apologize.

I remember our first kiss. We were arguing about some food. He said it was pork. I argued it was beef. He leaned closer to me to argue and before he could say anything I kissed him to shut him up. I won that argument.

Hearing you whisper through the phone,

"Wait for me to come home."

The guuld doors opened, my smile got even bigger as a familiar pinkette walked in through the guild. I stood up from my seat and ran into his big protective arms.

"Luce?" He asked, smiling.

"Natsu, I've missed you." I said and he hugged me even tighter. He pulled away and I looked at him. Before I knew it, he crashed his lips into mine.
