June flew by in the blink of an eye, blurs of training sessions and football matches. They won their matches against the Netherlands 5-1 and against Switzerland 4-0.

Next up were the group stages.

Old Trafford hosted their match against Austria where they won 1-0.

Their next match was against Norway.

JACK GREALISH

Good luck with your match
today!

The girl smiled at her phone quickly liking the message before making her way outside to the bench.

The boys luck did pull through as the girl managed to score 2 goals, causing England to win 8-0.

guess your luck did
work today Grealish🫶🏼

CJ seemed to have a soft spot for the Grealish boy, she smiled every time he wished her good luck before her games. She'd even forgot about his jumper that hid in the back of her wardrobe but the boy was very aware where it was and he didn't care.

The girl sat in her hotel room the night before her match against Northern Ireland, her peace and quiet disrupted with a knock at the door.

She opened it to a member of the hotel staff holding some flowers, chocolate and a card.

"These were delivered for you!" The staff smiled.

"Thank you," CJ smiled and she took them off the staff.

She opened the card, a smile appearing on her face after she realised it was off her twin.

"The best of luck for your game tomorrow! You make me so proud everyday, love you Jade.

BASMATI

thank you for the flowers,
chocolate and card!

You're welcome!
But what flowers?
*failed to send*

The girl had failed to notice the small card that had fell off the flowers outside her hotel room, highlighting the fact that the flowers were ordered all the way from Texas. Exactly where Jack Grealish was with his team.

The next day soon rolled around and the girl found herself back on the pitch. She assisted two goals helping them secure a 5-0 win against Northern Ireland.

Meaning they made it to the quarter final.

"Hey everyone!" CJ spoke into the face time call. Her parents and three brothers staring back at her.

"How's our girl? Are you excited for your game tomorrow?" Her mum asked.

"I'm doing so good! I miss you guys and my dogs! I can't wait to play it feels so surreal."

"The pups miss you too sweetheart, we can't wait to watch you on the tv," her dad laughed.

"You're all doing us proud," Declan smiled.

"God i love you guys," she laughed sniffing back tears.

"We love you more, goodnight! Good luck tomorrow!"

"Goodnight guys!"

She smiled down at her phone as the screen went blank. An excited sigh leaving her lips readying herself for her game tomorrow.

Just as she was about to roll over and go to sleep her phone began ringing.

*INCOMING CALL FROM JACK GREALISH*

"Oh hello and what do i owe this pleasure," she laughed picking up the facetime.

"Hello my beautiful Cecilia," he spoke down the phone clearly tipsy.

"I just want-wanted to say, good luck for your game tomorrow! I'm so proud of you and i think you're the most beautiful girl i've ever laid eyes on," he hiccuped through his sentence, walking into a room she assumed to be his hotel.

"Awhhh Jay thank you, you're the best."

"I'm just a little tipsy r right now, we've been celebrating in Texas and i wouldn't have the confidence to say this to your face sober. wait. not face to face we're on face-time, but, doesn't matter. you get it," he laughed a bit embarrassed.

"Cocky Mr Grealish too scared to call a girl pretty," she joked.

"Only scared cause you're the most beautiful girl i've ever seen."

"Congratulations on winning the Premier League by the way, i never said before."

"Thank you Cecilia. Anyway i need some sleep and i'm really tired so i'm going to let you sleep, goodnight love," he spoke half asleep.

"Goodnight pretty boy."

That night her mind was plagued with dreams about that certain boy.

The next morning she was in a better mood than normal.

"You're in a good mood this morning!" Leah laughed.

"Good day to win a football match," the girl laughed back.

The game against Spain started rocky but the girls pulled through and won 2-1.
