The Grand Opening

Bedrest

A few weeks have passed by since the opening of 3's coffee n' bombs cafe. Smg3 has enjoyed making coffee ever since he lived in the starbucks in the internet graveyard. He was glad he could make his two favorite things together. Unfortunately, this all came to an end during one of his shifts.

Smg3 pov:
It was around 2pm, it was a normal day where i served everyone their coffees and occasionally bombs. A few assholes, a few spills, nothing special. Suddenly, my body started to burn. A few customers noticed me struggling as i tried to get their orders. Luckily they ignored my pain, unlike me. I couldn't handle it. I had to close the cafe early and head home. I went back to find Eggdog surprised to see me earlier than usual. He barked softly at me, as if he was asking if i was okay.

"I'm alright Eggdog. Don't worry about me, let me get some food for you."

I walked to the cabinet containing Eggdog's food but before i could grab it i sneezed and bang my head onto the cabinet.

"Ow!"

Eggdog looked concerned for me but didn't say anything as i fed him his food.

"I'm going to bed a bit early Eggdog, if you need anything let me know"

I petted Eggdog then went into my room, locking the door. I sighed as i entered and went to bed. I turn on my phone to check on any notifications i may have missed during my shift. None of the notifications interested me but one stood out. I got a message from Smg4.

Smg4: Heard you closed early,  Everything okay?

Smg3: Yeah, just felt tired.

Smg4: Alright then, i'll let you rest. See you tomorrow

Smg3: See ya

Every time I see or hear anything about Smg4, I immediately get interested for some reason. It annoys me sometimes...
I turned off my phone and placed it on my nightstand before heading to sleep.

I woke up to the barling sound of my notifications. My whole body felt hot but cold at the same time. My nose was clogged and my mouth was my only way of breathing. I barely got up and brushed my teeth. Eggdog barked and walked over to me.

"Morning Eggdog..."

I grab my phone to check the time.

"12:26... Shit!"

I was late to open the cafe, i ran to the cabinet but tripped on a dog toy and fell to the floor. At that moment i heard a knock at the door.

"Ugh.. Coming!"

I painfully got up and opened the door to find Smg4 looking concerned for some reason..

"Smg3! Why didn't you answer my texts?!"

"Texts? Was that what the blaring was  about?"

All of the sudden, my vision became blurry as Smg4 tried to tell me something but i couldn't quite comprehend what he was saying.

"I should cough Really head to work now cough"

I try to walk past smg4 but i lose my balance and fall onto him instead.

Smg4's Pov:

"Smg3? A-Are you okay?"

Smg3 didn't respond. Eggdog came towards us and barked at me.

"Eggdog! Do you know what happened to Smg3?"

Eggdog whimpered as he walked up to us and brushed Smg3's leg.

"Hey Eggdog cough I'll be heading cough To work now..."

"Not in this condition! You're barely standing up!"

"Whatever.. Just let me go.."

Smg3 tried to walk again but i held on to him tightly.

"You're not going anywhere Smg3! You need to rest!"

"Just let me go!!"

I grabbed Smg3 and lifted him up in my arms. He held onto me tightly and put his arms around my neck.

"P-Put me down!!!"

I walked over to his room and threw him gently on his bed.

"You need to rest Smg3!! You look like a mess!!"

"Why do you even care Smg4?!"

"Because you're my friend! I'm supposed to care about you!!"

"Wha-"
....

Smg3 fell silent and turned over to their side.

"Fine... But..  Can you at least take care of  the cafe for me?"

"I don't know Smg3, i dont even know the first thing about making coffee!"

"There's a manual in the back, you can read it, plus cough i can take care of myself and Eggdog. I can call you whenever something goes wrong.
Deal?"

I looked at Smg3, he was staring at me as he continued to cough.

"Deal."
