Madeline walked into the forest she looked around walking deeper into the woods, the woods looked different than when she was young, with some of the oak trees rotting and on the floor and some other grown larger, before long she found herself at an abandoned camp, she looked around and saw only decayed corpses where people used to be, memory's flashed in her mind but she still continued to walk through the camp, but a final tent caught her sight so she stopped and looked, there two skeleton holding each other were, tears fell from her eyes and madeline hugged herself "Mother, Father I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough." Madeline heard a snap quickly she turned and saw a magnificent tree that had black wood and white patches, she walked over and plucked out a still living branch, then she looked down and saw a pond that was overgrown with leaves but the slightly blue gems were still visible mixed in with normal rocks, she knelt down and grabbed a pretty round gem, once she was done she walked away back into the woods she headed in.

She walked straight til she hit a road but she quickly stopped as something slammed into the floor in front of her, once the smoke cleared Madeline got a good picture of it, a gargoyle with skin as hard as stone and large wings stood, it had a crooked smile on its face and ot wielded a stone sword "I will capture you for my mistresses lunch." She said aiming the sword at Madeline, Madeline scoffed at how south it went she quickly put the gem and the stick in her pocket the monster jumped forward with its sword falling behind only being carried by an arm, quickly it swung but Madeline just as quick casted a protection spell holding back some of the damage, but still it hit her, throwing her body back and into a tree.

Madeline held her ribs and began to cough up blood her vision began to fade as memory's from her past began to overwhelm her, the gargoyle prepared to attack once more, it swiftly slashed once more this time Madeline wasn't quick enough to block and she was knocked out.

Madeline opened her eyes and saw she was in a tent I-I remember this place. A women walked up to her with a smile as bright as a gems, the women carried a small infant, she sighed "Madeline your still asleep." Madeline quickly sat up and shook her head "No mother, just resting my eyes to see the great old tree." Mom smiled and nodded she snapped her fingers and like magic, different clothes covered her." Then you better hurry as your friend is already headed that way." Madeline quickly stood up and ran, she ran around the tent and near some woods but she was quickly stopped by a guard with eyes as red as the solar eclipse "Kiddo what are you doing?" Madeline smiled at the man "I have to run up and make it to the old tree temple." Dad nodded and moved to the side quickly Madeline ran past him and into the woods.

After nearly 16 minutes she finally arrived at the temple she quickly and silently opened the door revealing a small event with other kids her age "I the priestess of Cybil the goddess of magic and living magical creature gift you this magical wand, in hopes you use it for good." The priestess said handing off the wand to the boy both of them looked to the door Madeline groveled down to her knees "I'm sorry priestess for my lateness, can I still attend for this year?" The priestess frowned "We're about done with everyone in your class Madeline yet it's always you arriving late..." tears fell from her eyes but she shook her head to stop them "I overslept I am sorry, I wish to graduate with my friend and be able to traverse the Black Forest researching its inhabitants." The priest sighed once more and seemed to walk over "You have more affinity towards magic I'm disappointed you won't be continuing your lessons even after graduating but I understand. And for you but only you I will allow this late graduation." A snap from her fingers could be heard and something flew into her hands "Do you Madeline accept, the duties of the researchers of our clan, to further develop our ways, and to lift the curse the cursed father laid on our land." Madeline nodded her head along with saying "I do." "Do you open your heart to Cybil, our creator, and the creator of other magical based creatures and magic itself?" "I do." The teacher placed something in front of Madeline she swiftly grabbed it and looked at it, a Blackwood wand with a small blue gem that seemed to turn reddish green in the center.
