Madeline scratched nervously at her leg, causing blood to drip, she read the logs to the basement back to front from now to all the way back to Galen's stay but didn't find anything all that odd.
Madeline sighed and looked around at the huge library, suddenly Carmen appeared from the shadows he quickly sat down with a smile "Did you find anything?" He whispered, Madeline shook her head, "I looked at this book back to front nothing odd, two artifacts were signed out the day of his death, nothing odd." She said, but when she looked at him, Carmen had looked shocked, "Does it say who signed out the artifacts?" Madeline looked at the list and with the two signed out artifacts the only name that seems to repeat was some dwarf she sighed "Some dwarf called Archie of house Maelstrom, he is a rune-smith in the tower, why?" Carmen sighed and shook his head, "after the Tyrannical rule of Divine head Mikael Black no one not even the head of the nine churches are allowed to sign out more than one relic at a date and time, they may sign out another once the other is brought back. Can you tell me what the names of the relics are?" Madeline nodded and looked at the list, "A relic called the eye of Cybill, a magic enhancer and the hand of Rynor, A manipulation device of sorts." Carmen gripped the table he looked around and then at Madeline "The hand of Rynor can contort a person changing their memories changing possibly everything about them, to whatever the user sees with the eye of Cybill he could use it to change everyone in this level... N-No tower even to what the Rune-smith wants." Madeline looked at him confused "And we're assuming this guys evil why?"
Carmen stood up "Archie was originally a power hungry bandit, a couple of decades ago, since all dwarfs can't do most forms of magic he moved to the next thing Rune making, in short of the long story he got recruited by the Head scholar after seeing his potential, but you know he never stopped being evil half his students end up with rune carvings on their bodies half the student died because of magic over flowing or some had became capable of using magic but most died the last student actually went missing not to long ago... but the Head's ego is so big he didn't want to realized he messed up... I mean it calmed down I think when you came to visit long ago because Miss Violet requested Tower of Cybills help and they answered." Madeline looked at him disgusted "Why would he do that?" Carmen sighed "He was also a sort of fairy enthusiast, and wanted to copy the naturally made runes that appear when fairy's cast spells, he was a psycho then he is now." Madeline sighed "We have to further investigate and have proof before we can assume."
Carmen sighed "How so?" Carmen said Madeline stood up as well and grabbed the papers "Despite his past he might be innocent in this, plus even with this people editing relic, he can't change a human to a fairy race as we are cybill's creations and humans are Ryriel." Carmen sighed "We should look through his room during his rune explanation class."
Madeline and Carmen waited outside, the dwarfs room watching him leave closely, they waited several minutes to make sure he wasn't coming back and when they finished they quickly walked up to the old door Madeline covered her hand over the doors lock, the lock heated up and burned a bright fiery red, quickly Madeline pushed the door open "We look for the relics, we have about an hour before he returns." Madeline and Carmen quickly entered the room and started searching the dwarfs bed, Madeline looked around and began to search his desk while Carmen searched the bookcase.
Only half an hour later did Carmen find something at the book case, "Madeline I think I've found it." Madeline turned toward Carmen, and walked over he ran from one edge of the book shelves to the next "The materials all wrong this entire tower is made from limestone, including most of the furniture, the middle bookshelf in the middle is marble." Madeline eyes widened a little she touched the marble but quickly they both heard the door shut "And so?" Madeline quickly turned and saw the dwarf, her shocked expression showed on her face "Professor Archie I thought you were in class." Archie touched a stone on the side of the door causing runes to appear on the floor "Yes my class was too learn runes that needed us to be outside, but it rained halfway... but what are you and the guest doing here, and why is my room in disarray?"
