Felix woke up from his nap just as the sun was the brightest in the sky, bleeding a yellow afterglow that leaked through the glass windows and open curtains, giving the room a smooth touch of intangible gold that made everything look calm and enchanting.

Hyunjin wasn't beside him anymore when he opened his eyes, which made his brows dip a little but swiftly went back to normal as he shut them once more.

Spending more time in the golden glow of the afternoon sun, Felix decided it was time to go outside since he had to check on his grandma and apologize for leaving her like that.

He's feeling much better now, much more relaxed and at ease. The annoyance and irritation that had been pumping in his blood, making his head hot, washed away after a good time of rest. It's like a distant memory. Something that never happened.

The living room was much calmer than he anticipated once he had stepped foot there. There was no one present in the place even though it was already deep into the afternoon.

Knowing there were people to accompany his grandma, Felix didn't make haste and found himself sitting on the couch instead, just breathing and taking his leisure time alone.

Shortly after, the front door opened, then voices were heard echoing inside the house. Felix's nose also picked up on the smell of woods and fine wine, having his stomach swirl.

As expected, Hyunjin stepped into his view, still with the accompaniment of the same woman with bright pink lipstick, but Felix decided to ignore that as their eyes met and the alpha's lips broke into the softest smile ever known to mankind.

“Hey, cupcake. How's your nap?” The taller immediately headed towards the omega, leaving the gatecrasher mid-conversation.

Hyunjin knelt between Felix's parted legs, welcoming him into his embrace which the shorter willingly fell into, planting his nose right on the other's neck where he could inhale his woods and get drunk in his wine.

“You left me.”

“Yeah, I could only shut my eyes for a few minutes and couldn't doze back off, so I just decided to check on Grandma,” The alpha explained, gently patting Felix's side. “Were you looking for me?”

“You think I'm crazy?” Felix asked, emitting amused laughter from the alpha.

“Sometimes, I hope.”

“Very funny.”

“You smiled though?” The taller one grinned.

“I didn't.”

“Fine,” Hyunjin pressed a kiss on the side of his head. “But do you need anything? Food? How about coffee? Do you want coffee?”

“I thought you said I can't have much coffee?” Felix quirked up a brow.

“Tea then? Fruit milk?”

The omega laughed, finding amusement in the way the alpha had proceeded to list down alternatives.

“It's okay, I don't need anything.”

Hyunjin was just about to say something back when the girl, Ha-ri, cut through to their conversation with her high-pitched voice and forced sweet smile that was so obviously fake.

“Hyundu, aren't we supposed to get the snacks for everyone?” She asked, twitching eyes trained on the two that had been momentarily lost in their own little world.

Felix cringed at the way that nickname rolled out of her tongue. Hyundu? Just who the fuck was that?

“Oh, yeah,” The alpha scratched the corner of his eyebrows with his thumb. “Just –”
