You didn't know when it happened, you were staring out the window and the next thing you knew everyone was asleep expect from you.

"Rengoku-san did say the demon was on a train..." you mumbled.

"What? How come this guy isn't asleep?"
You heard someone say and turned to them, there were some children with ropes in their hands.
You got up and approached them, "what do you mean by 'why I'm not sleeping'?" you watched the kids closely.
They instead turned around looking at some guy for help. You followed their gaze and it was a demon, lower moon one, Enmu.

You pulled out your sword ready to fight but Enmu raised his hand towards you and the mouth on the back of his hand started to speak something. You suddenly became dizzy and blacked out collapsing on the ground.

'Where am I?' you thought while inspecting your new surroundings which looked familiar...

"Y/n? What are you doing there?" an awful familiar voice appeared behind you.
Your eyes widen not believing what you were hearing. You slowly turned around, "M-mom?"

"Why are you crying y/n? Did you just thought you got lost?" the woman smiled.

"Mom!" your body turned small and your voice was like a child's, "Mom!" you ran to your mother who lowered her body to embrace you.

"There, there my child. I told you not to play until evening, you might can't find your way back home when it's dark." your mother took out a handkerchief and wiped your face, "Look at you, you got dirt all over you. Let's clean you up once we arrive home. Y/n?"

Tears kept forming in your eyes, you never knew that you'll ever see your mother again and you missed her so much.

Your mother picked you up and patted your back, "you must have been very scared. It's winter soon y/n, you need to get home early okay?"

"Mhm." you answered while burrying your face into her shoulder missing her warmth.

Once at home you were greeted by your younger brother, "Mom, why is brother crying?"

"Your brother didn't find the way home but thank god I found him." mother replied.

"What? You couldn't find you way home?" a male voice laughed.

"Hon, that's not funny, the forest does look different in the night. You can't just laugh at your son!" your mother put you back on the ground and you ran up to your dad immediately.

"Y/n?" your father asked surprised, "that's not like you, what happened?"

You wanted to say so much but you forgot why you're crying in the first place. Why were you acting like this?
No answers came.

"The darkness really startled you, huh?" father patted your back, "But y/n you're a man, men don't cry."

"It's alright, he's still a child after all," your mother came out from the kitchen, "now y/n go take a quick bath, dinner is almost ready."

"Yes, mom." you replied and you did as told.

You laughed with your family during dinner as your father told about his day which was funny but the laugher soon got quiet. You were confused, their mouths were still open but there was no sound, somehow your view turned higher, you didn't need to raise your head in order to watch your parents. You were in your original form again.
Suddenly, flames surrounded you, that didn't hurt, and the scene in front of you started moving again. Your family was looking at you with a sad smile.
"Be careful on your journey." were the words you could read from your mother's mouth.
