Charlotte:

I try not to remember the words Anthony said to me last night, but I can't help it. They're always there. He thinks he can get me and push me away whenever he wants, like my feelings don't matter. Bastard.

I call Adeline to tell her all the arrangements are done for her wedding next week and work on Clara's wedding arrangements. After a few meetings with my other coordinators, I finally get the time to eat lunch. Right about at this time, I'd usually go to Anthony's office and have lunch with him, but that's not happening anymore, because I've had enough of his asshole behavior.

After I eat a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch, brought to me by Harper, bless her soul, Della walks into my boutique with her nose in the air. It's not like me to not like a person before actually talking to them, but I definitely do not like Della. I could see the way she was using Sebastian, and not to mention what she did to Anthony.

She comes right into my office and I look away from my camera feed to look at her directly. Harper tries to stop her, but Della has her hands slammed down on my desk by the time.

"Stay away from my Anthony."

The fact that she thinks Anthony is hers is quite laughable, and it makes my blood boil. He's only mine. Even if we're not together now, he's mine. Fuck her if she thinks I'll ever let hurt him again. He has me now.

"Considering he's my father in law, I don't see how I can stay away from him. We live in the same house."

She leans forward and narrows her eyes at me. If anything, she's aged nicely.
"You know what I mean, you slut. I saw the way he was looking at you. Me and him are the ones meant to be together."

"You're delusional. Get out of my office."

"I mean it you wench. You stay away from him."

"That's the problem Della. I can't. I need him." I mimic the action of riding him, bouncing in my chair, closing my eyes, and smiling, biting my lip.

"Yes Daddy, fuck me harder."

It's not one of my proudest moments, but I see her face turn red, and I grab her wrist before she can grab my hair.

"You fucking bitch!"

I squeeze her wrist on the right point and she yelps, dropping it.

"Now, listen carefully Della. I'm warning you to stay away from Anthony. Your rape allegations won't work this time." The words hit their intended mark, because her face pales.

I saw an article this morning, which was practically buried. But it was about how she'd accused Anthony of rape. Thankfully, Anthony's foster sister and her boyfriend backed him up, stating that she was the one who couldn't take her hands off him the whole night. If it wasn't for them and so many others who saw, Anthony could have been in jail. The rumor still followed him a few years after that. No wonder the loathing in his eyes in palpable.

"I also know how you poked holes into the condom." I don't, but I'm guessing.

Her face goes white as a sheet now. Holy shit. So I am right. That'll take some time to process.

"H-how did you know?"

"I have my connections." I don't. It was a blind shot in the dark. She was too angry to even deny my statement. I wanted to make her as furious as possible and it worked to get the truth out of her.

"So why did you do it? You didn't want the baby, obviously. What did you get out of it?"

"All the kids in that school were doomed. But Anthony, sometimes I saw a rare glimmer of hope in his eyes. He wouldn't go anywhere with that hope, so I saddled him with a son, to give him a reality check, so he would know his worth and realize he's no better than the rest of us."

My heart breaks for the young Anthony and fury bursts through me by looking at this woman.

"Get. Out. I won't repeat myself."

I bet she sees my rage, because she leaves without another word, but not before giving me a glance as if to say that this isn't over. The nerve of her.

I slump in my seat when she leaves and Harper looks at me with widened eyes.

"I don't know whether to laugh, cry, to be sad or be happy."

"How about all of the above?"

She drops down into the seat in front of me.

"So you and your father in law. I can see the appeal. More than see it in fact. That man is a DILF."

I chuckle, because it is true.

"I love him Harper, but last night, he told me he wants nothing to do with me. That I should be with Sebastian."

I tell her his exact words, the going out with Sebastian yesterday, the events of today, and she seems to think it over.

"Think of it this way. Sebastian is interested in you, from what I've gathered. Anthony probably wants you to take a chance on Sebastian, because you two are married after all. He's raised his son for the past 27 years or so, maybe he wants you to give it a try."

I ponder over her words. She is right, I do understand it when she puts it like that.

"I'm not telling you to forgive him, give him Hell, girl. But maybe that's why he did what he did. Because even I've seen the way he looks at you. It definitely wasn't an easy decision for him to make. The armor that he built against you is probably as flimsy as a shell. Make it crack like how you made that Della crack. Top notch acting by the way. Daddy? Goddamn Char, you're a freak."
She cackles before the flower I throw at her even touches her back.

Harper is right, but I'm not ready to go back to Anthony just yet.
