Isabella POV.

When Elena showed up at my house, unexpected, I never thought she would tell me that Jason was just using me to get a scholarship from my father. I told her that it's best if she goes because honestly I didn't believe her I couldn't stop thinking about what she said so I told my mom and dad that I was just going to stay home because I didn't feel good. My dad was back from his football games but he's going to be leaving next week because he has another one only reason why he came back is because my mom was telling him that I was showing out after my mom and dad left. I went to go watch TV but I still couldn't stop thinking about what Elena said so I got my mind off of it.

I made a painting for my father. I gave it to him, and he told me that he was going to hang it up in my parents room but he never did so I decided to do it when I went to my parents room I found the perfect place after I put it up, I jumped off the dresser. My shirt ended up getting caught on the dresser handle, and when I yanked it, it opened up a little bit. I was about to close it until I saw a bunch of papers. I figured it was just my mother and fathers work papers but when I saw Jason's name on an envelope, I was curious so I opened it up and I couldn't believe what I saw. It was a scholarship for my father to Jason, so he can get into a good college.

So what Elena told me was true, but that doesn't mean that Jason was using me he could've simply asked my father for a scholarship, and still have feelings for me. The only way I can know the truth is if I actually talk to Jason so the next morning I asked my parents house for dinner was, my father smiled at me and told me that it was pretty cool and our neighbors were really nice. My mother said that she was so upset that I was sick because Jason was constantly asking for me I smiled when she said that which is giving me hope that Jason wasn't using me for a scholarship. I lied and told my parents that I was just going to go to Elaina's house to hang out with her. My mother said OK and told me to be safe but really I wasn't going to Elena's house. Xavier has been calling and texting me these last couple of days trying to hang out I told him to meet me at the mall because I wanted to tell him something important.

I was just going to tell Xavier that I don't think we should hang out anymore because I made up my mind on who I want to keep talking to as I was leaving the house. I saw Jason and his friend on a bike. I figured this will be the perfect time to ask Jason about the scholarship, but when I went to go talk to him, he acted like he didn't see me. I kept calling his name, but he kept telling me he couldn't talk right now when he walked away, I saw his father sitting on the front porch oh, I decided just to go to the mall to meet Xavier when I was waiting at the food court. I was tapping my feet, looking at the scholarship in my hand. When Xavier came up to me, he smiled. I gave him a small hug, and we sat down.

so what did you want to talk to me about? It sounded pretty important! He said looking at me.

Oh...well I wanted to talk to you about us you're a pretty amazing guy and I honestly do like spending time with you but! I said, trying to break it down to him.

Isabella, please stop look. I understand that I tend to talk about my self a lot it's just a habit that I'm trying to break. I would have really appreciated you if you told me that you didn't want to hang out with me before I went out of my way to buy you this! He said, giving me a bag.

I awkwardly took the bag from him and opened it up inside was a painting I took it out and I saw that it was song by my favorite artist. He said that he saw that I really liked art so he did a little bit of digging and bought my favorite artists painting I knew it was probably expensive so I told him that I can pay him back. He simply sugar said he told me that it was OK because he got a bonus at work and it didn't affect his pocket at all as he slowly got up, he told me that I can just keep it and to have a nice life even awkwardly said that he'll get to see me around. He was literally about to walk away from the table when I told him to stop when he turned around. I can tell that he was really hurt. I don't know what came over me so I just told him how I felt.

I explain to him that no one really has bought something like this for me I also told him that when I am with him, I do get sometimes bored because he talks about his self a lot but I also do you like listening to the stuff he talks about as I was talking to him. He smiled at me, so I asked him if he wanted to go out later on today and he said sure he told me that he gets off at 4 o'clock so I told him that I will meet him here I kissed him on the cheek and walked away. I don't know what came over me. I literally should have told him that I have feelings for Jason and I was going to see where that goes but I can tell that he was really hurt. Besides, I wanted to see if what Elena told me was true.

I was just going to go home and relax before Jason gets home. Doing whatever he was doing but someone yelled my name and I looked and saw that it was his mother. She asked me if I can come inside to help her so I did but I went inside it smelled really good like chocolate cake . She told me that she was going to go to my house to bring my father this cake she made for giving her son a scholarship when she said that that's when I knew what Elena said was true I talked to Jason's mom until I had to go when I walked inside I went into the living room. My parents are watching a movie. My father asked me what was in my head so I told him it was a chocolate cake that Jason's mom made for him for helping Jason get a scholarship for college he gave me a small smile and said thank you as he went into the kitchen, and he said that he was actually on his way to give it to Jason.

I gave him a small smile and said that I can do it because I was going to go see him later anyways she said OK it went up the stairs. My mother asked me if I was OK and I told her that I was perfectly fine with my father came back downstairs. A few minutes later, he handed me the white envelope with Jason's name on it and told me not to get it dirty because it was the only one he had. I told him OK went upstairs.
