There is a significant difference between people's ideal version of themselves they hold in their minds and the version of them that actually exists. Sometimes, it seems like there is an embodiment of the "perfect self" in the mind of each individual persuading their host to be just like them. In the 1999 movie, Fight Club, starring Brad Pitt and Edward Norton, there are many major differences between the two variations of the main character, which are the Narrator and Tyler Durden. This quote is the most well-known line in the movie and is significant because sets the tone for the underground and subversive activities that take place in the story. Tyler Durden speaks with a bold and rebellious tone, often using dark humor and sarcasm to convey his ideas. He has a straightforward and direct way of speaking that can be both provocative and thought-provoking.
