Characterization Stories

On Wattpad, I've seen many comprehensive writing guides that have helped me so much in my own writing, and I figured that I want to do the same by putting my input in some of these chapters. I hope you find the advice useful!

In an English class in high school, we were told to characterize a person from our life in the third-person, but in a way similar to how Truman Capote characterized the main character's friend in his short story "A Christmas Memory." In this book, I have decided to characterize a few people from my life. These are short characterizations, as that was what was required from the class, but just as an example of yet another way to describe a character indirectly.

It's an assignment I had to do for my fiction class. It was supposed to be based off of the beginning of Tim O'Brien's The Things They Carried. It's a bit of characterization loosely based off of the personalities of some people on the St. Benedict's Prep track team that includes me by the way. Vote and Comment

A little sci-fi/fantasy/adventure idea that has been bouncing around my head for a while. Still forming the overall arc in my head but It's all about powered people and human interactions with each other and with nature. I will try to update it when I can. For now it's in its rough beginnings.

One girl's story as told alongside seven other lives

Cleo is the frost queen, an odd ally for Oro, king of the Sunling lands. But perhaps their friendship makes a kind of sense. This scene takes place after Oro reveals Isla's secret and allies himself with Cleo. (VERY mild spoilers for the end of the book.) Oro just desperately needed some characterization and I wanted to build a bit on the thin scaffolding that Alex gave us. So I, as a character writer, took it on myself to write this little scene.
