The Purex company had always focused on high quality, organic chicken. However, once it was bought out by JCJenson, they began dabbling in GMOs.
Their new CEO, James Elliot, needed the best chicken science could offer. He gave the job to his daughter, Tessa Elliot, who had once wiped out a species of locusts that were destroying crops.
She had managed to do so by releasing a man-made, airborne disease that would wipe out the female population. In turn, the males could not continue the species.
The ambitious project had led to her becoming the Chief Geneticist of JCJenson.
Unfortunately for them, and the population of a small nearby town, she had her own little side project.
