Chapter 31 – Not A One-Sided Feeling
"Oh, there's one thing I want to ask you two," asked Aldo.
"Yes?"
"What are you two doing here? Honeymoon?"
"Of course not!!" I answered, along with Margee. Margee and I looked at each other and we both burst out laughing.
"Hey, I'm seriously asking! You guys are dating already? Is it official?? Why did I just hear about it? Marg?"
"No, Aldo," I answer. "Margee is willing to accompany me on holiday here, that's all."
"Heeee," Aldo said vaguely. I saw him keeping a straight eye on Margee. "So you two flew from Leighryn to here, purely for the holidays, with no romance whatsoever between you two? Ah, I can't believe it."
"We're just here on vacation," Margee said.
"If there is something like what you said earlier, so what? Am I not allowed to court Margee?" I said spontaneously.
Margee looked at me, I saw her face turn red. While Aldo grinned widely. "Of course you are! Who dares to forbid you, my friend??" he replied cheerfully. "I'm just still surprised, suddenly meeting you here, just the two of you! You look like a couple in love, apparently, my guess was right!" Aldo laughed.
"Okay, now shut up," I said. "You've been laughing so hard ever since, you could make all the visitors here run away, you know?"
"Really?? Okay okay, I'm quiet now."
"Then? Where else do you have a show schedule after here?"
"Tomorrow I have to fly straight to Porth!"
"You have such a busy schedule, Aldo," Margee commented.
"Obviously! But, being able to witness the energy and enthusiasm of the crowd from the turntables. Well, that's priceless. Their passion is what motivated me to get this far!"
"You are a true entertainer," I replied.
"That means if your schedule is that tight, you might be absent, at our gang reunion at the end of this year?" Margee asked.
I turned to Margee. "There's a reunion? How come I just heard about it?"
"Well, I haven't told you yet, Ike? Yes, tomorrow the 31st at the villa where we gather as usual. We'll celebrate New Year there," Margee said.
Aldo shook his head. "No, I can't. I won't be able to attend. Until a week after New Year, I'll be in Los Aneles. I guess I'll be absent from the reunion. Just say hello to the others, OK, Marg?"
"Okay. It is really difficult if we want to gather all of our gang members .... Each of us has our own thing to do. How about you, Ike? Can you come?"
I smiled and nodded. "Of course."
So that same night, Margee and I fulfilled Aldo's invitation by attending his show at Zouk, a nightclub in Broena. The last time I had fun at a nightclub, was when Tanya and I were still a couple.
But right now I'm with Margee. Calm and sweet Margee, she doesn't seem so comfortable with the hustle and bustle of the night world. I don't think I'm going to be here long either, I'd hate it if Margee had to put up with this kind of discomfort. I, to be honest, have never felt comfortable and free to express myself in places like this. Just because Tanya used to regularly invite me to parties, over time I got used to it.
And apparently, now I'm approaching a woman who thinks and tastes the same as me. Margee, you know, until now I've found so many matches between us, I want to make our relationship official! But do you feel the same way as me?
