Kenora
We got back after dropping the van off. The house was quiet. Min and I walked through the hallway. I stopped in front of Damian's door and rested my head against it. "You will understand with time. I hope you can forgive me when you do." I whispered. I backed up and looked at this door. "I hate it when people don't commit to what they've said." I remembered his statement. "I'm sorry." I muttered, walking to our room.
"Are you okay?" She asked, "That was a lot to take in in one night." She looked at me concerned. "I'm fine. I promise." I reassured her. "I'm here if you need me," She gave me a soft smile, "Try to get some rest." She finished. "You're going through a lot, too. If you need me, I'll be here for you too." I promised. She smiled and hugged me. "Now sleep you will need energy to train and remain vigilant." She demanded. "Fine. Goodnight." I spoke. "Night."
I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep...
All I saw was blood everywhere. I looked down at myself, and I was covered in it. Was it mine? Was I going to die? I looked around and noticed that I was in a gorgeous familiar building. I also felt the sudden urge to search for something. I don't know who or what. All I know is that I had to find it. My legs had a mind of their own. Then a huge bang knocked me back. It felt like the world was spinning. I stumbled over rubble and dodged pillars. I fell to my knees. The smoke got too thick. I can't breathe. I CAN'T BREATHE. I took the time to look at myself one last time. I look smaller. Shorter legs and arms. I felt my hair. It was shorter than I remembered. Who am I? I tried to continue crawling. Then another bang shook the building. A massive pillar that caught fire came crashing down. It fell right in front of me. The heat burnt my arms. "Ahh!" I cried. Why does my voice sound like that? "Are you there!" A familiar voice called out. "Are you there!" It called out again. The smoke got too much for me, and everything started getting darker. Until I saw a final pillar collapsing in my direction. I heard a muffled scream.I woke up in a cold sweat. I looked at the time it was three in the morning. 'This can't be happening again.' I thought to myself. I took a few deep breaths. I turned over to look at Min, who was sleeping peacefully. I then calmed down and went back to sleep.
"Time to get Kenora." Min shook me awake. "I'm up." I groaned. With the little sleep I had, I needed to wake up and train. I got out of bed and made it. I went into the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Once finished, I stared at my reflection. "You can do this." I told myself. I then took a shower and got ready for the day. I dressed in military print pants and a black shirt and tied my braids up in a bun. I then joined the others.
"Oye preciosa, ¿cómo estás?" (hey gorgeous, how are you?) Ivan winked. He was helping Colin make breakfast. "Seeing you cooking just made my morning." I responded. "What? You didn't know that I threw it down in the kitchen?" He joked, "Keep me around long enough, and you'll see what else I can do." He teased. "Garcia!" Min scolded. "Sorry." He quickly went back to cooking. I burst out laughing. Min appeared from the other room and hugged me. "Morning, King. Sleep well?" Colin called. "As good as I could. Judging by the sight of you cooking and in an apron that says 'Hot Stuff Coming Through, and I Don't Mean The Food', I would say that you slept well?" I pointed out. We all laughed, and he agreed with my testimony. Then there was a change of atmosphere. He walked in.
Damian walked in, looking at his watch. "Morning." He greeted, coldly. "Wow, how enthusiastic." Ivan replied sarcastically. I let out a soft giggle. "How motivating." Colin added sarcastically. I fought back a laugh. "Let's get through the day." Min mocked in a similar tone. I started laughing. Everyone else joined me. I even saw him crack a little smile for a split second, then went back to his monotonous expression. "Here's your mini breakfast buffet." Colin called. We all got back to our senses and helped place all the food on the dining table. Ivan had set the table prior.
