Kenora
I woke up to his arm wrapped around me. Why do we keep ending up like this? What's worse is that I love it. I love how safe I feel in his arms. How cared for, I feel. I carefully slipped out of his grasp and went to get ready for the day.
I finished getting ready, wearing a black polo neck, black trousers, and random good-looking shoes that I can confirm I stole from my older sister's mission closet. I tied my hair back and finished off with a perfume that wouldn't last long. Damian finally stirred awake. "Look who finally decided to join the living." I joked. "No matter how early it is, you will still be smart mouthed, won't you?" He made his way to the bathroom while I put on my jewellery. "Aw, you noticed. How sweet." I place a hand on my chest. He grabbed his bag, then shut the bathroom door tightly, and all I could do was laugh. I heard him start the shower and get ready.
I made sure to pack away and get my outfit for later tonight, ready. Damian finished and walked out ready. Grey polo neck, white trousers, and the watch he wore last night. His hair was similar to last night's. What a man. The way the shirt hugged his body made me go feral. "Go out and enjoy. I'll follow after a bit later." He stated. He definitely didn't have to tell me twice. I seriously needed to get him out of sight. It's like the saying: "Out of sight out of mind." I walked out and made my way to the cafe. I ordered myself chamomile tea and a chocolate drizzle croissant and only ordered him a black coffee. He isn't a big fan of sweet things, after all. The barista called out my order, and I collected it. I found myself a place to sit in the cafe and waited.
Like he said, he later joined me at the table. H "I hope I didn't keep you waiting, my love." He said sweetly. I shook my head and smiled at him. I handed him his coffee, and he thanked me. He took my hand and casually scanned the room. "Found them. They're sitting with their wives at the table closest to the exit." He explained. I nodded and took a sip of my tea. I heard a chair screech coming from their direction and footsteps coming our way to the counter. The footsteps were light and rhythmic, which told me it was a woman walking.
I stood up as soon as the steps came close, causing her to spill her warm drink on me. Bingo. "Oh dear!" I yelled. Their table of now five, three couples, turned to look at us. Well, technically, two couples and her husband. She immediately started apologising and trying to get napkins to wipe me off. "My deepest apologies..." She replied, dabbing my chest with the napkin. Her English accent is thick. "It's okay dear, I understand that it was an accident." I replied in a similar accent. She smiled sweetly and held out her hand. "I'm Claire. Claire Parkham." My heart sank. My face surprisingly remained unchanged. I smiled and held her hand, making sure to leave a mini tracker in her blouse. "Vivienne. Vivienne Blackwell."
"Vivienne, how about you join the ladies and I later today for lunch and a few drinks? You can see it as an apology for ruining your top." She offered. She's exactly where I want her. "I would love that." I grinned. "One o'clock sharp. The colour theme is white or neutral colours." She winked and walked away.I walked back to Damian, and he offered to go back to our room so I could change out of the wet polo neck. I kept my composure until I got to our room. "Her last name..." I whispered. Damian looked at me confused. I sat on the bed in shock. A sudden knock on the door grounded me a little bit. He opened the door, and it was Min and Deja. "Any information yet?" Min questioned. "No, not yet. I have lunch with them later today so I can find out more information then. But..." I trailed off. "What's wrong?" My sister asked. "Parkham." That was all I could say. Her and Min instantly froze. Min was the only person beside Daja and I who knew about that name. "How?" Deja asked. "What's going on?" Damian asked, concerned. "The Parkham family was a family we needed to meet at the event before the incident. However, they never showed, and it was later said that they got in a car accident. We thought that they all died, but clearly not." I replied. Damian instantly had a look of sympathy. "We need to pull it together for tonight. We can get Ivan to find out what he can, but for now, let's focus on the mission." Deja dismissed. She hated the thought just as much as I did.
