Nico

Being able to spend time with my daughter felt like a dream. "How have you been?"

"I've been okay I guess."

"Why? What's going on?"

Callie shook her head. "Never mind."

"Hey... you can tell me anything."

"Danny keeps trying to act like he's my father."

"She sure must love him."

"Sadly, she does."

"I wish I could have seen you years ago, Callie. I've missed you so much. Not being able to see my own daughter has been painful and upsetting, knowing that Valentina wants nothing to do with me."

"She didn't even want me to come visit you."

"How about we go to a Blackhawks game?"

"Really?"

"I have my day off tomorrow, my buddy can get us tickets."

"I would LOVE that!"

"Good."

"It's getting late, I'm really tired."

"Of course. The guest room is upstairs, see you in the morning."

She nodded. "Night, dad."

Callie

Just as I got in the bed, my phone vibrated.

Mom: Did you make it to Chicago safely?

Callie: Why should you care?

Mom: Look, I want to apologize. I was rude towards you.

Callie: I can't disagree with you...

Mom: You shouldn't be held back from seeing your father. I just don't like Nico for many reasons.

Callie: Mom, he is my actual father. He deserves to see his daughter.

Mom: Okay

Just as I put my phone on the nightstand, it vibrated again. Went to your house, saw you weren't there.

Callie: Who's this?

Derek: It's Derek.

Callie: How'd you get my number?

Derek: None of your business :)

Callie: Bye, Derek

I may or may not miss him, but I had no business talking to him.
