Callie

*** Three weeks later: Around 9, I heard a knock on my door. "Come in."

"Hey."

I saw Derek and scowled. "What are you doing here?"

"I wanted to stop by."

"How did you find out where I live?"

"None of your business."

"What are you doing here, Derek?"

"How's the pregnancy so far? Did you find out the gender?"

"Yeah, I'm having a boy."

"Oh, congrats."

"Thanks, I guess. Did you tell Brea?"

"No, but I'm going to."

"No, that's not a good idea."

"Why?"

"Because you got someone else pregnant, and I know she won't be happy about that."

"Well, no, but it'll make me feel better."

"No. You can't. I can take care of the baby by myself."

"I know, but I want to be a part of our child's life."

"If you were single, it would be different, but you're married."

"So, you want nothing to do with me?"

"We can't Derek. Besides... you hate me, remember? And I'm the one who made you cheat, remember?"

He shrugged. "Callie..."

"You should go. Before she wakes up."

Scowling, he opened the door and left.

I knew he wanted to be a part of our baby's life, but he had his own life to focus on.

Derek: I really want to work this out.

Callie: You have a wife, Derek.

Derek: Won't stop my feelings I have for you.

Cheating was never something I would do but having my ex-husband's child has only made things worse for me.

Derek

Four months had passed, and Callie has not returned any of my calls or texts. When I got home, I saw Brea sitting on the couch. "Hey, I'm home."

"Hey."

"Is everything okay?"

She scowled. "I know everything, Derek."

"What do you mean?"

"I know you've been talking to Callie."

"What are you talking about? Why would I do that?"

"Loyalty is everything to me and you promised you would never cheat on me."

"Brea..."

"As much as I hate you, I love you."

"Good, I'm glad."

"It will take a long time to gain your trust again, but I love you."

"Love you too."

I knew she loved me, but I didn't think she would be this dumb to stick around.
