Chris: Last time on Total Drama Island... The competitors were forced to conquer their deepest, darkest fears. Not all of them succeeded, but others surprised the group and faced their fears head-on. Intro ♡
Chris: Bass, Gophers, today's challenge is a true summer camp experience. A canoe trip. You'll be paddling your canoes across the lake... [spookily] to Boney Island![explaining with a map of boney island] When you get there, you must portage your canoes to the other side of the island, which is about a two-hour hike through treacherous, dense jungle.
Geoff: We've gotta pour what?
Chris: "Portage."
[fly buzzes into Geoff's ear and out the other end]
Kasumi[explains to Geoff] He means we have to walk with our canoe.
Geoff: Oh.
Chris: When you arrive at the other end of the island, you'll build a rescue fire that will be judged by me. The first team to paddle home and return their canoes to the beach is the winner of invincibility! Move, campers, move!(both teams run to their canoes) Oh, wait! One more thing (everyone stops ) I should mention. Legend has it, if you take anything off the island, [spooky voice] you'll be cursed forever!
[thunder]
Owen: Yeah, haha! A cursed island! Whoo!(awkward silence)
Chris: Now, get in your canoes and let's have some fun!
Owen: Yes!
(Suddenly the sound of a toilet being flushed could be heard ,and Beth appeared and was late to the explaining of the challenge.)
Beth: What'd I miss?
Chris: Canoes.( he points to the direction, and Beth followed to catch up to her team. )
[Static buzzing]
Cody: [confessional] Chris told us to pick a paddling partner. It was time for me to make my move. If I could just get Gwen alone for five minutes, I knew I could woo her with my manly charms. But , I got to be decent or else Gwen will tell Kasumi. And Kasumi will turn me into a human pretzel.
[Static buzzing]
As the campers pick their partners to ride in the canoe with, look to each other with the intent of going across the lake together, but they are interrupted by who proposes Gwen the same offer Trent was giving. Irritated by his interference, Gwen responds by angrily injuring him.
Lindsay: Trent! You have to come with us!
Meanwhile, Beth and drag Trent off to paddle with them. Seeing this, Gwen reluctantly allows Cody to partner with her on the trip.
Cody: [grunting]
Gwen: [sighs] Fine.(she let's go of him): But I'm in charge.
Cody: That's the way I like it.
[Static buzzing]
Cody:[confessional] Yes! Yes! Yes! It is so on! [plays air guitar]
[Static buzzing]
Gwen: [confessional] Cody? He's like an annoying brother. A really annoying little brother. Man, at times like this, I wish Kasumi was on my team.
[Static buzzing]
