Ex-TXT member Han Jinyoung has finally been discharged, after having missed 18 months of action in the Entertainment world, however he didn′t completely disappear from the public eye, as we were given glimpses into the Idols′s life in uniform as an officer in the Marines.
And although we much prefer seeing Jinyoung on screen, Staff Sergeant Han Jinyoung was certainly a sight to see as well.

Jinyoung, the top shooter
Upon entering the army in May 2028, Jinyoung quickly rose in the ranks as a top shooter during training, proving he′s not a soldier just for show, Jinyoung hit the target all 20 times in day shooting training, and all of his 10 shots hit the target during night training. To qualify as a top marksman, rookies must hit the target more than 18 times out of 20 in day training and nine out of 10 at night.

Jinyoung races ahead
Jinyoung also participated in the Seoul Recovery Commemorative Marine Marathon in September 2028, where fans and the press flocked to catch a glimpse of the star making one of his first public appearances as a Marine.

Jinyoung charms Indonesia
Jinyoung was ultimately posted to the PR unit after completing basic training, where he remained quite active, most notably visiting Indonesiain October 2028 as a special envoy for the Defense Media Agency for Public Information to promote trade relations with the country and the image of Korea′s armed forces.

Jinyoung, the face of the Marines
As a widely-recognized star in Korea, it only made sense that Jinyoung would eventually become the face of the Marines, the Corps originally planned to put Jinyoung on public relations duty; however due to public criticism and his reported desire to serve on the front line, Jinyoung was assigned on active duty to Baengnyeong Island, close to the Northern Limit Line and Yeonpyeong.
In March 2029, a photo of the idol smiling widely and donning a pristine-white uniform was featured on Korea′s Military Manpower Administration′s official homepage.
