"Okay, my darlings, what do you say about watching another cartoon?" Aunt Linda suggested after lunch, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
Victor and Mia exchanged a glance, their smiles mirroring each other's. "Yes, please!" they chimed. An hour passed as Victor and Mia giggled and enjoyed their cartoon marathon, completely engrossed in the vibrant animations dancing across the screen. However, their delightful afternoon took a slight turn when Aunt Linda announced that she needed to run a quick errand.
"Alright, my little ones," Aunt Linda said, her voice filled with warmth. "I have to step out for a short while, but don't worry, I've arranged for someone to keep an eye on you. She'll be here in just a moment."
Victor's curiosity piqued as he wondered who Aunt Linda had entrusted with their care. He couldn't help but feel a flutter of nervousness at the idea of meeting someone new, especially while dressed as Victoria. But knowing that Aunt Linda had a plan to prevent any potential embarrassment offered him a sense of reassurance.
Just then, the doorbell rang, and Aunt Linda went to answer it. Victor's eyes widened as he saw a girl, just a year or two older than him, standing at the doorway. She had a friendly smile and a warm demeanor, instantly putting him at ease.
"Hi there," the girl greeted Aunt Linda. "I'm here to babysit two little girls?"
Aunt Linda nodded and gestured towards Mia and Victor. "Yes, this is my daughter Mia and that's Victoria. She's Mia's little niece. Girls, this is Emily, our neighbor's daughter. She's going to keep you company while I'm gone."
Victor smiled nervously, grateful for Aunt Linda's quick thinking. "Nice to meet you, Emily."
Emily returned the smile and offered a friendly wave. "Nice to meet you too, Victoria. I hear you and Mia have been having a fun day. I'm excited to join in on the fun."
As Aunt Linda provided Emily with a brief rundown of their routine and any necessary instructions, Victor felt a wave of relief wash over him. He realized that with Emily being introduced to him as Victoria, he wouldn't have to worry about feeling embarrassed or explaining the situation.
Once Aunt Linda finished giving Emily the necessary details, she turned to Victor and Mia. "Okay, my little ones, be good for Emily, alright? I won't be long. I love you both."
"We love you too," Victor and Mia chorused, their voices filled with affection. "Just be a good baby girl and everything will he okay," she whispered in his ear as she gave him a kiss on his cheek.
With a final wave, Aunt Linda left the house, leaving Victor, Mia, and Emily to continue their afternoon together. Victor couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude towards his aunt for ensuring his comfort and sparing him any potential embarrassment.
"So, what were you two up to before I arrived?" Emily asked, her eyes twinkling with excitement.
"We were watching cartoons and having lots of fun!" Mia exclaimed, her enthusiasm contagious.
