Falling Into The Beast World.

A Abandoned cub

I snuck out the door and took a deep breath the air in the hut is stale. it feels amazing to breath fresh air thats saying something since i hate leaving my own space. i stretched my arms above my head and did a whole body stretch that has me on my toes. 

no sooner then do i put my arms down do i have Harvey pressed against my back growling at me mad i left the hut by myself. i snort at him as he rubs along me like a over grown cat   then he snarls a something in the bush it small about the size of a house cat but i cant make it out. "harvey what is it?" he shifts back and snarls one more time at the bush the says" its a abandoned cub the male who fathered it died so the female lost interest in it and told her males to get rid of him and his brothers." i froze then shoved him away snarling then why are you being mean to him!" he snorts and says "he doesn't belong to my female hes just looking for scrapes de doesn't belong in my territory!" 

 i ignore him and go to the bush and call out to the cub "come here cub?" harvey is hovering with a curious look on his face like he has no idea what im doing. as the cub inches out i finally get a good look at him he looks like hes only a few months out and starved near to death i scoop him up turn him this way and that harvey watches shock then blinks in surprise as i ask " Harvey can he survive on meat yet" I'm a little worried Harvey answers "yes hed have been better off with milk in his diet a little longer but hes old enough he can survive on meat hes too small to hut though so he has no chance." 

i hummed and looked at the young cub in the eye and asked "you want to stay with me cub till you learn to hunt on your own?" the cub had tears form in his eyes and his little meows were adorable harvey gasped "females never raise cubs not there own!" i look at him "i do what i want" he snorted and laughed "if you want the cub ill help you with it" i looked the cub over humming "he needs a bath and food then a nap." im looking the little one over and harvey is way to happy to guide me back into the house. 

guess i just adopted the cub my attention is firmly on the little thing its so tired and looks ready to be done with life. i worried hell give up. harvey sets a huge bowl full of warm water in front of me. "hand him hear ill bathe him?" i bared my teeth and he blinked surprised i was too but tried not to show it as i said" ill bathe him find him something to eat" he chuckled and walked away i eased the whining cub into the warm water and started to rinse the mud and anything else off him he become a limp noodle as it all washed away and he was weakly purring. i reached back and grabbed a small fur off the bed and wrapped the cub in it.

i sit by the fire patting him dry he harvey appeared and set food in front of me and the cub  the cub is whinnying desperate i say quietly "calm down now you'll get to eat but you haven't ate in to long if you eat to much to fast you just make you self sick" the cub trembles as harvey cut the food into cubes i offer him one and he swallows it whole "chew the food cub don't just swallow" i hold out another small chunk he takes it and this time he chews. by the time he full his belly is huge and hes starting to doze of in my arms. Harvey was weaving a big basket when hes done he puts a couple furs into it. he slides it next to me to lay the cub watching me.

i lay the cub in the basket and move the basket next to the bed of fur harvey starts kissing my neck purring and say "your so amazing with that cub i cant wait to see you with ours"  i rolled my eyes and looked over at the cub who is sleeping peacefully for probly the first time in a long time i couldn't help ask harvey "do you think he will be ok?" he wrapped his arms around me purring "with you taking care of him hell be just fine?" 

there is a knock on the door.
