"Take two a day as needed." A male voice filled my mind as I began to awaken from my unconscious state. A bright light beaming overhead made my brain hurt. I reached up to rub my head with my left hand, now noticing my right arm was wrapped due to a large gash having been gingerly stitched up. I glanced up to see that my mother was discussing with a male doctor whose name tag read Dr. Roberts. I looked down at my right leg where a dark midnight black cast was attached to my foot. 'Well, there goes my summer plans, and any use of my scooter.' I thought as my mom noticed I was awake.
"How do you feel buddy?" She asked approaching the hospital bed I was lying in. "Like my life is over." I said in response. "Now don't be so negative honey. You survived something so horrible because you are strong Erin." She stated while rubbing my left shoulder. "Thanks, Ma." I said while watching the doorway. Three men, all in police uniform entered the room, startling my mom who had her back turned.
"Hello mam, we are from the Clover Valley Police Department, and we are here to ask some questions of Erin whenever he feels ready, of course. We would like as much on this criminal as we can." Voiced the tallest of the group, as the shortest waved at me when my name was mentioned. "Of Course, please come in." My mom responded, stepping aside to give them all full access to me.
"Hi Erin, I'm Officer Banch." The tallest with short blonde hair stated cautiously as if I would be startled by their presence. I glanced at the other two, both were much shorter with dark hair. The third, to the right, was mixed like me. The second man grunted to clear his throat, preparing to speak. "I'm officer Sabal, and this is officer Poweller." He spoke, pointing at the third man who was now the one waving at me. I did a slight wave back with my left hand.
"What would you like to know exactly?" I asked, honestly not wanting to have to relive the whole experience, but if it would help him get caught then it would all be worth it. Officer Banch came closer while pulling a pen and pad of paper out from his shirt pocket, not wanting to miss any details. "If you can remember some of his features. Now, we have already viewed the field where it began but we only have a few details. If you could, start from the beginning, the best you can." Officer Sabal answered. I glanced back towards Officer Banch, for he was the one preparing to take notes.
"Well, the first thing I did after leaving the park was ride my scooter towards home. Then I was walking through the field, I'm remembering a bear trap." I gazed down at my right leg implying that was why the cast was so necessary. "Someone was waiting, most likely the man who attacked me, they blocked my airways. I woke up with my arms, legs, and mouth all bound sitting in a shadow-filled room, but I managed to get loose." I stammered, Banch writing quite fast trying to keep up. I paused to wait until his pen stopped moving. A few moments later he looked up, wanting me to continue.
"I made enough noise to alert the attacker, which made a horrible machinery-like noise stop right as I heard footsteps. He approached me wielding some type of an axe. As I broke through some loose paneling, he hit my arm." I said, barely lifting my arm to show them where specifically. "I found a man, security, I think? He was the whole reason I made it away, and here." I noted.
"Alright, Erin. This is a great start for us. So many potential items we can begin looking for. I am under the impression that you never quite saw his face?" Questioned Banch. "Correct, he was wearing some sort of prize mask. It was all white and resembled a bald man with pale skin and deeply sunken eyelids." Banch added more to his notes, seemingly on his third page. The thought of the man's almost black eyes made him seem like a demon. "He was pretty tall considering he had to duck to come through the doorway. It was so dark I could really only make out those few details."
