"I've got a new job, keeps me real busy. Leave me a message, if I like you I'll call! Ciao!"
Finn hung up the phone harder than necessary as Gloria walked into the kitchen. Gloria stopped and raised an eyebrow at Finn, obviously curious about the show of temper. Finn just growled and waved her off.
"Nothing to worry about. I'll track him down later. For now, we need to do something. I'm feeling okay right now, and even the gods couldn't know how long that will last, so we should be using whatever time we have."
"I don't know about that, I mean when you're feeling better that doesn't mean you're going to keep feeling better and you don't want to relapse, right?" Gloria asked skeptically.
"Well." Finn said lamely and then she sat down with a sigh. "You have a point, so I shouldn't over do it, that doesn't mean I shouldn't do anything though. And I'm getting frustrated with all this not doing things."
"You did an interview." Gloria pointed out as she went to put on a kettle of water for tea.
"Yeah, and Louise hasn't called me to let me know if she want's the secretary job. I hate that kind of work." Finn picked up a piece of paper and started shredding slowly and carefully into the tiniest slivers of paper. "But I could start setting up more interviews."
"You need to set up the lumber room thing too. Or I guess I could do that?" Gloria sat down and pulled out her little note pad. "Can we kill this list of questions I have?"
"Save those for when I have no physical energy but my brain is good to go." Finn waved off Gloria, and Gloria made a note. "Let's set up the lumber rooms. It'll be a good way to show you how to link the house without giving people access to the house. I want to help those kids, but I don't want them in my home." Finn shuddered and Gloria chuckled. "There are quite a few of them. What are we going to do about the cult they came from?"
"As horrible as it sounds we have to leave it for now. I can't take on anything as organized as I'm told this is while I can barely hold my own head up sometimes, and I won't ask you to take the lead on it." Finn paused and looked at Gloria thoughtfully. "Although if you can dig something up in the Chronicles that would be helpful. I can't tell you what you're looking for though and there may be nothing in there."
"You seem to know more about it then you're telling me." Gloria accused and Finn blinked.
"Ah. Well there's something we can do then. Put your happy face on, let's meet a god."
Gloria spluttered as Finn reached up and lifted the phone receiver down from it's cradle. She waited to make sure the line was clear - that no one was trying to reach her - and then called Artemis.
"You never contact me this often, what's wrong?" Came the voice over the line and Finn nodded.
"I realize that and I'm not trying to worry you. Just thought if you were available then now would be a good time to formally introduce you to Gloria instead of waiting for Friday." Finn soothed and explained.
"Oh, well-" Artemis was interrupted by a voice on her end of the line. "I have company at the moment. It's just Athena, can I bring her too?"
Finn felt her head nodding before Artemis was finished. "Yeah, bring Tina too. That's fine. I don't have a coffee pot though so it's tea or water. Warn her, would you?"
"She heard, we don't use phones anymore. So far as I know you and Hades are the last of the archaic people that uses corded devices." Artemis said and laughed as Finn growled and hung up the phone.
"Quick bit of information before they get here." Finn said to Gloria. "My beef with the gods and most of the entities that are other is generalized. I don't hate any of them specifically. Having said that I don't really get along with any of them besides Artemis."
