I rise early before the sun comes up. I decided to journal by the pond before my family woke up. I walk to the pond and breathe in the cool spring breeze and stars. I sit on the swing beside the pond and wrap myself in my red fleece blanket. I began to write.

Since coming back home, I never expected to have started to fall for this man. I am looking forward to spending the day with Adam again. I know it is supposed to be work-related, but I enjoy being in his company. He is so shy, but he brings me so much warmth and happiness that I have never experienced before. I hope he feels the same way about me.

I know I eventually must tell Trevor about Adam and our relationship, but a part of me isn't ready to. I still believe I have feelings for Trevor. I know he is not suitable for me, but we have so much history together, which includes Jameson. I loved Trevor, but he has never made me feel the warmth and comfort I think with Adam.

Jameson starts kindergarten in the fall. Time has passed by so quickly. He is growing up to be a bright and sweet boy. As soon as I get my car fixed, I will cut back my hours. If I asked, my parents would probably help me pay for the car, but I want to be independent in some way. I am already living with them temporarily till I can get back on my feet.

Hopefully, today will be another wonderful day with Adam. I can't wait to see him. He fills up my every thought. I just don't want to get hurt again.

I stayed a little longer and watched the sunrise; then, I headed back into the house to start my day.

When I arrive at Adam's front porch, he is already waiting outside with a coffee and warm biscuit in hand. Eagerly, he says, "I made this fresh this morning. The biscuit recipe was my mother's." The smell and warmth of the biscuit make my mouth water. I take a bite, feeling the flakey texture and buttery flavor. It is absolutely yummy. "Thanks. It tastes amazing," I replied gratefully.

We start the day like yesterday by collecting eggs and checking on the animals. The air is humid and hot. By lunch, my hair is disheveled and sticking to the back of my sweaty neck. "I have leftover baked chicken and a few sides if that is okay for lunch," Adam asked. That sounds perfect to me. My stomach is growling. I walk with Adam to his kitchen. As we wait for the food to heat back up, Adam turns and looks at me nervously, like he wants to kiss me. I take control, put my hand around his head, and place my lips on his. "You look so beautiful," he said with a smile. I kiss him again, more eagerly this time. He lifts me up and sits me on top of the kitchen counter. I wrap my legs around his waist and my arms around his head. His kisses taste like peppermint and coffee. He smells of sweet musk and pine, which gets my body heated. I don't think I could ever get enough of this man.

The kitchen timer goes off, making me jump. "Food is ready," he says. We decided to eat inside at his dining table to cool off from the weather outside. The food tastes so good. "The chicken came from one of the chickens you helped care for yesterday. It is such a privilege to grow and raise my own food," he said. I was shocked, but it didn't surprise me too much. Adam grew up on this farm. We finish the meal and head back outside.

"Would you like to go out with me this week to go hiking?" Adam asked. I replied shyly, "I haven't been hiking in a long time."

"No worries. It's a short trail up Crowders Mountain. I love going this time of the year. The view is spectacular."

"I believe I would enjoy that very much."

After Adam dropped me back home, my mom greeted me eagerly. "How was your couple of working days with Adam?" she asked. "It was great, Mom. I have learned so much about raising animals; most animals are sweet. Honestly, Mom, I really like Adam. He is so great with the animals and is such a kind and compassionate man." I told her. "It sounds like you have it bad for him, April; I just hope he pays you well," Mom jokingly responded.

I go into the bathroom to shower off the hard day's work, and during the shower, my mind starts to slip. I begin daydreaming of Adam with his sexy arms and body. I had to turn my shower a little colder to fight off the heat radiating from me. After the shower, my phone begins to ring. The only person who ever calls me is Trevor. To be sure, I checked the caller's I.D., and it was him. I let out an angry moan and answered. "Hello, Trevor."
