I'm not going to bore you with the details of Ivy and Colby shopping for their couple's costumes, especially because it will make you feel more single, so we skip ahead!

As we walk out of the store, bags in hand, my phone chimes with a text. I pull it out and see a message in our girl's group chat from Kat, saying she and Sam were done and heading back to our original drop-off point in the parking lot. I quickly shoot them a text saying that Colby and I would be there soon, and put my phone back in my pocket. We walk back towards to parking lot, Colby grabbing my free hand, and I step closer to snuggle into his shoulder as we walk. We go back through the entry doors, meeting up with Corey and Devyn there.

"Wassup brotha?" Corey asks, as though he didn't just see Colby 30 minutes ago.  They dap each other up, Colby dropping my hand to do so. I move over to stand beside Devyn and pull her slightly away as the guys chat.

"Okay so I know the guys want to keep their costumes secret from each other or something, but I'm gonna need your help with my makeup, so what are you going as?" I ask her quietly, turning our heads away from the guys so they can't read our lips. Just then, Kat comes running up to us, bags swinging from her hands.

"Hey guys!" She calls, and we beckon her over. "What are we doing?" She whispers, her voice dropping in volume dramatically, causing us to laugh.

"We're about to say what our costumes are, but we're whispering because our boyfriends are childish and will yell at us for not keeping it a secret," Devyn whispers back, and I nod solemnly.

"Awesome! Sam and I are going as Chucky and Tiffany," Kat says, and I gasp.

"Oh my god, that's perfect for you guys! You're going to look so cute!" I exclaim, grabbing her hand as she smiles at me. "Colby and I are going as Harley Quinn and the Joker," I reply, and Devyn looks at me.

"Ooh, so are you going to dye your hair or use hairspray?" She asks, and I grin at her.

"I'm going to dye it. I've been wanting to for a while and now I have an excuse!" I answer, unable to stop my smile. "Devyn, what are you and Corey going as?"

"Well, he wanted to be Mario, so we're going as Princess Peach and Mario," She says, and I laugh.

"Cute!" Kat says, opening her mouth to continue.

"Hey! What are you guys talking about? You better not be fraternising with the enemy," Corey says, pointing at us. Devyn rolls her eyes, putting one hand on her hip as she turns to answer him.

"You're so overdramatic!" She yells back, walking over to him anyway. Kat and I follow, standing in a circle again.

"What were y'all chattin' about?" Sam asks, looking between us all with one eyebrow raised. For some reason, he said this with a drawling accent, and both Kat and I scrunched up our faces in confusion.

"None ya business, cowboy," Kat responds, slapping the back of his head. "Guys come on, we need to go get Jake." She finishes, hooking her arm into Sam's and walking in the direction of Toys R Us. The rest of us follow, walking slowly over to the big sliding doors. We walk in, the cool air blasting us in the face, making me shiver. We walk along the aisles, trying to find our dumb friend.

"Oh, Jakey?" Corey calls.

"JaAaKeE!" Colby yells, voice cracking like crazy. We all keep walking, me in front, until we reach the start of a new aisle. I stop abruptly, holding my arms out to make everyone stop behind me. "What is it?" Colby whispers to me, looking ahead to see what I see.

"Holy shit, Jake's got bitches," I breathe out, taking in the sight of Jake chatting a stunning girl up, while they both hold lightsabres. This girl is 5 feet at the absolute most, and she looks like a dwarf next to Jake's 6-foot frame. However, the sass this dark-haired girl is radiating from across the aisle is enough to tell me she's holding her own, despite the height difference.
