Chapter 1 : Escape

"Hoy miyuki! Babaeng to kakapagod habulin." Nakahawak sa dalawa niyang tuhod habang hinihingal pa. Sino ba kase ang nag utos sa babaeng to na tumakbo.

"Ano ba naman yan ezra, umagang umaga nag iingay ka jan." Hindi maganda yung umaga ko, kasalanan to nung panot na lalakeng magnanakaw na yun hinablot ba naman bigla yung bag ko. Rude.

Kung gusto niya nagsabi siya sana ibibigay ko naman. Madali ako kausap

"Babaita, bakit ka umabsent kahapon sa klase ha? " Umiiral na naman pagiging chismosa nitong babae nato.

"Tinamad ako, ano ba meron?" Nakakatamad kaya pumasok. Lalo na ngayung araw si ma'am legaspez yung prof.

"Hinahanap ka ni Ma'am legaspez kanina may sasabihin siguro." Papagalitan na naman ako nun panigurado dahil sa mga bagsak-bagsak ko na mga grades. Ano bang bago. Kakatamad.

"Miss lang ako nun." Ako nalang palaging nakikita. Trip siguro ako ni ma'am legaspez.

"Anyways, why are you here ezra?" As far as i know may klase pa kami ngayun.

"Nag excuse ako sa class natin may lakad kami ni mama mamaya. Baka aabsent nadin ng ilang araw." May lakad pa pala tapos heto nakiki chismis pa.

"Saan punta niyo?" Bago yun ah? Hindi naman to nag e-excuse? Takot na takot nga to mamiss kahit kunting lesson lang.

"Emergency lang sa probinsya, nagkasakit kase si lolo tacio." Kaya pala parang ang tamlay ng mga mata niya kanina kahit nakangiti siya. Lolo tacio is someone who is really dear to her.

I can feel her pain. She really love lolo tacio.

"Yuki anak, halika bilisan mo jan tumawag yung prof mo." Nandito na pala ako malapit sa amin. Kita ko si mama sa labas na mukhang kanina pa ako hinihintay.

"Yuki uwi na din ako baka aalis na kami ni mama mayamaya." I can tell that she's really sad and nervous.

I want to help her but i just don't know how.

After she said that tumango nalang ako at naglakad na papasok sa gate ng bahay namin. Marami pa akong gagawin dumagdag pa si ma'am legaspez.

"Yes prof?" I can almost hear her scoff by just hearing my voice. She hate me that much?

I put it in loudspeaker because mother told me so. Para na rin siguro marinig ni mama kung ano yung sasabihin ni ma'am legaspez.

"Meet me inside the faculty today. I have something to discuss with you regarding with your performance in school." My guts is telling me not to.

"I'm sorry to interupt your discussion with my daughter ma'am legaspez but she can't make it today. She have a fever." After she said that she ended the call.

For the record i don't have a fever. Kaya nagtataka ako bakit nagsinungaling si mama kay ma'am legaspez. I can see her hands trembling too. Seriously? What's happening?

"Miyuki go pack your things you will leave now." What? Leave now? Where? I'm really confused on what's happening.

"Wait-" confusion is written all over my face.

"I know that you are confused right now but i'll explain everything but not now. We don't have much time. Go! pack all your things." I hesitate at first but my guts is telling me to just follow my mom and prevent myself from asking questions.

Kahit naguguluhan tinakbo ko ang daan papunta sa kwarto para mag impake ng mga importanteng gamit na dadalhin. Kinuha ko na din sa pinakailaliman ng mga damit ko yung kwentas na regalo pa sakin ni papa bago siya pumanaw.

"Here take this with you. It will help you find the right path." It's a ring with a small star symbol and a gold linings sorrounding it. This is the ring na palaging suot ni mama.

"Take this with me? Hindi ka sasama mama?" I have a bad feeling about this.

"Go miyuki! I'll hold them as much as i can. Go to your aunt sefana she knows what to do." Hold who mama? We're hiding as if we did something wrong. What's really happening?

"I can't leave you here alone."

I can't leave her here. After what happened to papa i can't bare to lose my mother also. I can't take another pain. This is so fustrating.

"Please anak. Leave. They're coming. I promise we'll see each other again. Always remember that Every darkness, hides a light. "

Dahan-dahan akong tumango at lumabas gamit ang back door ng aming bahay. But before i can totally go outside i can hear our front door is being forced to open.

I'll hold on that promise mama. Please be safe.
