IN THE dimly lit room of her elegant Salvatore home in the year 1864, Estela stood by the window, the soft glow of dawn streaming in, casting a warm light across her figure. She wore a lavish, laced gown, and her raven hair cascaded in loose curls down her back. A maid, stitching the corset of her dress, stood by, attending to her needs.

"Is that all, miss?" the maid inquired, her fingers delicately working the needle through the fabric. Estela nodded, patting herself down, ensuring her attire was impeccable.

As she gazed out of the window, her eyes caught sight of two young men playing catch in the garden below. Stefan and Damon, both handsome and dashing, their laughter filling the air as they tossed the ball between them.

"Cuties, aren't they?" Katherine, remarked as she joined her by the window.

Estela couldn't help but smile, her gaze fixed on Stefan. "They are," she admitted, her voice a soft murmur.

"The Founder's Ball is up and coming, you know," Katherine said with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Both of them want me to be their date." She chuckled to herself.

Estela let out an exasperated huff. "People talk, Katherine," she chided, her eyes still trained on Stefan.

Katherine raised an eyebrow, her tone smug. "When did you turn so concerned?"

"No, I've always been prescient in keeping our identities a secret," Estela replied firmly, finally tearing her gaze away from Stefan. "Now we should respect the town's wishes, which means you stop playing with those poor boys' hearts."

Katherine's lips curled into a sly smile. "No rules," she quipped.

Estela's patience wore thin. "You're not funny," she retorted, turning to look at her own reflection in the ornate mirror.

"They're both over the moon with me, it's cute," Katherine said, her smirk never wavering.

"Yet you compel them," Estela said, turning around to face Katherine, her disapproval evident in her expression.

"Just leave them be, Katherine," Estela said, her annoyance clear as she left the room.

Estela stood in her elegantly adorned bedroom, the opulent decor reflecting the lavishness of her attire. She was in the midst of changing into her outfit for the evening, the layers of fabric rustling softly as she adjusted them. The soft glow of the chandelier above her cast a warm radiance upon the room.

As she fastened the final button on her gown, she heard a light knock on the door. Turning her head, Estela saw Stefan entering the room, a charming smile gracing his lips.
