That same day the twins decided to go to the city and it was beautiful as they took the dirt drive out of the woods and into the bustling town. There were a lot of people who knew the twins and were always very friendly towards them.

Xana and her brother were enjoying their day until they heard screams. Turning on their heels, they see a massive cloud of dark gray smoke coming from one of the many buildings. Marionette looks over at his sister and both nod, knowing what they had to do. Opening their wings, they aim towards the burning building. What they didn't know was that two people were watching them.

Kagekao and Eyeless Jack watched from a dark alley as the twins took off. Slender had told them about the pair near their grounds and they had decided to check it out. The building that was set ablaze was not the two boys' idea and they had a sickening feeling that wouldn't go away so they followed many others.

As soon as they got to the building, a sound erupted into the blue sky, shattering almost all the windows. Once the ringing left their ears, Kagekao looked at EJ and saw him transfixed on one of the many broken windows. Screams and cries surrounded the boys as they continued to stare, helpless as they couldn't do anything.

That's when they saw it, a figure being thrown out a window like a ragdoll as another explosion rang through the sky. Glass and pieces of concrete started to rain down to the crowded street below. The figure was that of one of the twins, one of her wings was shredded, causing her to struggle to fly. She then rotated her body, another figure tightly hugging her as her arms were tightly holding them against her own body.

The girl landed on her feet with such force, Eyeless thought he heard her bones break. She set the person down and turned back to the almost destroyed structure before launching herself back inside it. Once all the people that were trapped inside were out, the twins were gone.

Nobody knew if they were still inside with the fire but they weren't outside either, causing people that had watched the boy and girl duo enter the building to begin to worry. Then, someone pointed to the open door as the flames licked the now stale air. The girl was holding up her brother as they emerged from the disaster, the blaze still raging as sirens could be heard coming up the street.

The twins were severely injured and bloody, X carrying her barely conscious twin to the ambulance, biting her tongue so as to not cry out in pain. The paramedics saw her and ran over to them with a stretcher. She set her brother down before she collapsed from exhaustion, telling them to please take care of him as he was her only family. They promised her and she soon blacked out from the pain.
