Prologue

      Azalea's pov
I looked up at Luca as he smiled at me.
My heart broke at what I was about to do.
He was literally the sweetest person I knew and he didn't deserve any of these but it was necessary.
I had to keep him safe even if I had to hurt him to achieve that .
Luca was my life. He was my whole world and the heartache I felt proved as much.
This man found me at my lowest and literally loved me regardless.
He adored me, he loved me like I was his lifeline and I knew I was.
18 year old me would literally kill me if she knew what I was about to do.
He smiled at me with that smile that could light up a room.
I could see the concern in his eyes as he looked at me and realized that I wasn't really listening to what plans he had about our 5 year anniversary.
"Hey love, are you alright, you look a lil bit out of it."he asked.
"You don't like the plans, I knew I should've asked. I am so sorry my love.
I promise I'll think of something else.
Please don't be sad."
Ooh my heart.
You see what I'm talking about.
He was the most selfless man to ever walk this world and I don't even doubt it for a second 
"Luca its okay."
I love everything that you just said.
I'm sure we'll have the best time of our life.
"So what's wrong,, I know that look Lea."
Something is bothering you.
You know I'm here right.
I'll always hold you through everything so you can tell me.
We're a team remember. "
That was our motto through the years.
If any of us was going through a tough time we leaned on the other to hold us through it and it broke me that I wouldn't be there for him to lean on after this 
He had Ethan though.
I made him promise to look after Luca even though I didn't tell him exactly why.
I was hoping to do this in the least painful way possibly but I'm realizing there's no less painful way to break someone's heart.
"I think we should break up." I blurted out without knowing when I did.
I saw Luca freeze.
What have I  done.
Tears started falling when he didn't say anything after a while.
He just stared at me.
" I am waiting for you to start laughing and say its a prank." I heard him.
I slowly shook my head.
"I am so sorry Luca."
I hope you forgive me one day.
I love you." I said.
