Facing the past.

(Trigger warning, there is child abuse in this chapter. You have been warned. This chapter was going to be the battle training but I wasn't liking how it was going so. Im skipping to this one.)

(Many years ago. One week before running away)

Tenko father disapproved of heroes in general, and hero talk in particular. That same day, he had been sternly and angrily reprimanded by his father, and his mother had talked a little with him, but in the end she, and his grandparents, submitted to his father. Only his sister supported him. And that day, she took him to their father's study while he wasn't around, and rummaging between the drawers, showed him an old picture.

(Young Hama who at the time was still Hana)
It's a secret! This person is apparently our grandma! She was a hero! (In a happily tone.)

Her brother took the picture from his sister's hands and looked at it. In it, a young woman was hugging a kid; both were really happy.

(Tenko looked at the photo in shock)
Why are you showing this to me, Hana?

(Hana)
Even though dad said all that, it'll be alright. Because I'll be cheering you on, Tenko. Let's keep it a secret from dad and become hero siblings.

(Tenko tears falling from his checks)
Y-yeah we will be hero siblings! Hey what's that thing?

Hana looked to where he was and there was a ball with one star on it.

(Hana)
Oh that's a dragon ball. Mom told me there's a lot more out there. If someone can collect on of them these two dragons show up to give you wishes. There names are Toronbo and Kazan.

(Tenko)
Cool!

(Hana)
Yeah I know but we should leave.

And they did but later that day, Tenko was playing with the dog, Mon-chan and thinking about his grandma being a hero, when he felt his father looking at him, and turned around.

(Hana father)
"Tenko!" he screamed angrily, walking over to his son with long steps. "You went into my office, didn't you?! You saw, the picture didn't you?!"

Tenko father's slap hurt more than anything else he had experienced, and threw him to the floor, with Mon-chan running away.

(Tenko father)
Listen up, a hero is someone who hurts their own family for the sake of helping others.

(Tenko with tears streaming down his face yelled in rage)
THEN WHAT DO YOU CALL SOMEONE WHO HURTS HIS FAMLIY  FOR NO GOOD REASON?! I WOULD RATHER BE HERO THEN SPEND ONE MORE  SECOND BEING IN THIS FAMILY! I HOPE YOU DIE!

Tenko then runs for his dog picking it up and running out the door. Hana then tries run after him but was slapped in the face by her father. Landing into the wall and weakly got back up.

(Hana father)
Don't go after him! He made his decision!

Her father then walks to his study. Hana want to yell something anything. Run out to find her brother. But she didn't she was frozen and after sometime walks to her room. As soon as she entered she starts crying into her knees.

(Hana thoughts)
I am really pathetic. Couldn't even help my own brother. What kind of big sister am I? A terrible one that's what I am.

(Tenko randomly appears)
Why?

(Present Hama)
What?

(Tenko)
Why didn't you save me?

(Hama)
I wanted to help but I-.

(Tenko cutting off Hama)
You froze. What kind of sister freeze when trying to help her brother? You should have helped me. Take some of the blame for going into dad's study.
