His eyes shine as bright as a summer sky.

I might be looking like a total idiot, standing alone at the corner of this massive ballroom, but I really do not care. A servant reaches me with a tray filled with expensive-looking drinks.

-"No thanks"- I said, taking my eyes off the guy in the middle of the room, dancing elegantly with a girl. -"But, could you tell me where the bathroom is located?"- The servant points to a double door, leaving me alone right after.

I headed to that door, looking back multiple times, trying to catch a glimpse of that boy again, but he was gone.

I instantly freeze in place as I enter the bathroom, my eyes catching a small glimpse of the guy from the ballroom before he entered one of the stalls. Pushing myself forward I reach the sink, washing my face with cold water, trying to take the image of that guy from my mind. I open my eyes, looking back at my reflection in the mirror. I couldn't help myself not to freeze again as I realized that the boy was standing behind me, looking at me.

-"Hey"- He said suddenly, as if he had just exited a trance.

-"Hi"- I responded, trying as hard as I could to hide my foreign accent. Not that I minded it at all, but different accents weren't really that accepted in the palace and the people within it, especially if you weren't one of the richest in the zone.

-"Need some help?"- He asked, walking to the sinks and turning on the water to wash his hands. I didn't know what to say so I just shook my head and extended my hand.

-"My name's Collin"

-"Asher"- He said, accepting my hand and shaking it slightly before walking two or three small steps back, leaning against the wall -"Who are you with tonight?"

-"Oh, uhm, no one actually. My mother said I needed to come and talk to women. Nobody has reached my interest yet"- I answered, trying to sound as bored but confident as I could.

-"Mothers ain't I right? I saw you looking at me. At the ballroom."- I could feel my cheeks getting red. -"Can I ask you a question?"- He continued after what felt like an eternity.

-"Uh, yeah, why not"

-"Do you want to kiss me? Because I feel like you do."- I felt my chin fall before I could even control it.

-"I... I wasn't... I didn't..."- I didn't know how to reply to that.

-"That probably came out bad..."- He whispered loud enough for me to hear -"Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be mean, I actually found you really attractive. It was really difficult for me to focus on dancing with you staring at me."- Asher tried to explain himself -" You're not from here, right? I can feel your accent"- He continued, trying to kill that awkward silence between us.

-"No problem... And no, I'm from the other side of the country, right next to the sea"

-"That's cool. You didn't answer my question. Do you want to kiss me? Or were you just zooned out while looking at me?"- He said, walking closer to me, stopping with just two or three fingers-distance between us.

Before I could answer, the door abruptly opened, revealing a tall young guy, around twenty-five years with blond hair and what looked like a mixture of blue and green eyes, and definitely someone who was up to no good.

-"Asher! I've been looking for you everywhere, brother! Why are you talking to this middle-class?"- Brother? But they looked so... different -"Mom and dad wouldn't like this"

-"I was telling this guy to keep himself out of my way"- Asher responded, his tone changing drastically. As I turned my face to Asher, trying to know if he was just joking -"Get the fuck out of my face, you twink"- He continued.
