When Sherlock saw Archie, he was instantly reminded of himself when he was young. Timid, shy, and quiet. He was always lonely as a child, as when he spoke, they were all deductions, nothing else. So when Sherlock met Archie, he promised himself never let anyone else face the difficul times he had as a kid.
