Sometimes when Sherlock can't sleep he gets dressed and sneaks into John's room. He lies down on the bed and listens to his breathing just so he knows that John is ok. John usually wakes up early due to his army training and is used to seeing an arm dangling in front of his face and a snoring Sherlock next to him. John doesn't have the heart to wake him. So he leaves him be.
