Felix couldn't hold another ounce of happiness in his body. He had a smile from ear to ear like never before. It was incredible that he had gotten the job, not because Chris had recommended him, but because his answers in the interview had been the right ones.
He arrived home, where Jisung was waiting for him, watching a movie while lying on his bed. Apparently, he was so focused that he didn't notice Felix coming in. Felix jumped on top of his friend.
— You're not letting me breathe! Get off, — Ji said, trying to push Felix. Felix moved away from his friend's body with tears in his eyes.
— Oh my God, Felix, are you okay?
— Yes, sorry, I'm just so excited, — he said, still smiling and crying.
— You look like a Ghibli character with those big tears coming out of your eyes,— Jisung said, gently wiping away the tears from the freckled boy who couldn't stop crying.
— Tell me, why are you so excited? Did you get the job?
Felix nodded, again without stopping crying or smiling, but this time wiping his tears with the sleeve of his blazer.
— I'm sorry, I just can't believe it. I also don't understand why I'm so emotional about it, — he laughed.
— But tell me! How was the interview? What did they ask you?
— Well... At first, it was weird. Hyunjin, he asked me how I knew Chris, and when I told him that we came together to Korea to pursue our dream. He's a very intimidating man, incredibly handsome but intimidating. After that, I think it turned into a more normal interview. I got carried away with the last question, you know, the one about 'why should I hire you instead of someone else'. When I finished, I was a bit scared because he had such a poker face, but seemed very attentive to what I was saying. His gaze was fixed on me as if he were a predator... But I think I did well in answering the way In did because when I finished, he paused briefly and told me I got the job.
— I'm so happy for you, Lixie! We should celebrate! I'll get some beers.
— No, I can't, I start tomorrow.
— What? So soon? Alright. Then we better go to sleep. By the way... No matter how handsome he is, remember he's your boss.
— Yeah, you're right. Thank you for supporting me, thank you for being here.
They hugged, and Felix got ready to sleep.
The alarm hadn't even gone off, and Felix was already awake in his bed, staring at the ceiling. When he checked his phone to see the time, there were still more than two hours before the alarm would go off, but nerves and excitement were getting the best of him. He didn't have any work-appropriate suits. In fact, the suit he had worn the previous night belonged to Jisung, who was still sound asleep next to him.
He decided to start getting ready early to make sure all the paperwork they had asked for was in order, find a reasonable outfit for his first day, and finally to prepare breakfast and leave some for Jisung.
Time passed quickly as he organized everything. With the paperwork in order, breakfast for Jisung in the oven, and a note saying, "I left you breakfast in the oven. We'll celebrate later <3" on the kitchen counter, he left the apartment and headed straight to the museum.
On the bus, Felix was a bundle of nerves. He wasn't sure if his outfit had been the best choice because he didn't have very formal clothes. Tight black pants, a black turtleneck sweater, and a leather jacket were the closest he could get to "formal" for his first day of work. He would have to rely on his fashionista friend who had more formal clothes than he did while he acquired his own.
