After having a nice, laid-back brunch with Chris, Hyunjin and Felix returned to the museum. During their gathering, Hyunjin had already mentioned to Felix that they needed to review the permanent exhibition because they were planning some changes to "refresh" the museum's collection a bit. So, as soon as they arrived at the museum, Felix's first task would be to review the pieces on display and storage inventory.
For a younger Felix, this job might have seemed tedious and boring, but the current Felix was delighted to learn about the artists featured in the museum, both modern and contemporary, it was a fresh thing to do. He spent the rest of the day looking at and organizing information to have it ready for the next day. After all, Hyunjin had told him that he didn't need it for that very same day. So, when it was time to leave, he said goodbye to everyone and went home.
Felix liked to dress well, but during the years he worked in video games, he had neglected his image a bit and taking on this new job forced him to put a little more effort in his looks, if he wanted to represent the museum in a proper way. He would try to dress nicely every day, and, as Hyunjin instructed, for important meetings and outside appointment, he would wear more formal suits.
That morning, he got up a bit earlier. He put on slim black pants, a white shirt that accentuated his slim and delicate figure, and a not-so-formal blazer, slightly fitted to complement the outfit. Pleased with his appearance in the mirror, he applied some of the Yves Saint Laurent cologne that Chris had given him as a birthday present a few years ago. A bit on his wrists, neck, and chest. Satisfied, he left home straight for the museum, with just enough time to arrive early.
He greeted Yuqi, who was a bit surprised because Felix looked exceptionally good that day, not that his beauty usually went unnoticed.
He went to his office and picked up the folder he had prepared the previous afternoon to hand it over to Hyunjin. He hoped he hadn't missed any details. He approached the door and knocked.
— Come in...
— Good morning, Hyunjin, — Felix said with a smile, although his boss hadn't looked at him yet; he seemed to be reviewing something on his computer. — Look, here's what you asked for yesterday,— he added as he passed him the folder.
— Good...— Hyunjin lifted his eyes and found Felix, dressed like never before. In the days they had been working together, he hadn't been able (wanted?) to detail him so well. His figure was slender, refined... worthy of a Bernini sculpture, he thought to himself. He tried to regain his focus, or at least that's what he attempted to do, shifting his eyes to the folder and not to how well the shirt fit or the fitted pants. — Morning... Felix, — he recovered his attention, or at least tried, by looking at the folder and not at how well the shirt fit or the fitted pants. — Hi — he said again, finally looking at Felix.
— Hyunjin? — Felix asked when he noticed Hyunjin still hadn't taken the folder. He had noticed that he looked at him attentively, as if scanning him. Had he dressed incorrectly, or was it too much? He glanced at his clothes to see if maybe he had left his zipper open or something, but that wasn't the case. — Excuse me... Is something wrong with how I dressed today? — he took a little risk asking because he was a bit concerned about that look Hyunjin gave him.
— No! Nothing! — Hyunjin responded with more enthusiasm than necessary. — Just... I was thinking, — his train of thought totally lost, because he didn't know what to say. You look like a sculpture that I can't stop staring at... pffff, don't be foolish, Jinnie, he scolded himself. He extended his hand and took the folder that was still in Felix's hands. — You look good today; your outfit is perfect. I'll review the list and let you know.
— O-okay. Th-thank you... — Felix said, looking away from Hyunjin and bowing, hoping his boss hadn't noticed how his cheeks had turned red when he heard him say that his outfit was perfect. He went back to his office, touching his cheeks. He truly hoped, with all his heart, that Hyunjin hadn't seen his reaction — the pink cheeks, his eyes looking away, and touching his neck to see if the coldness of his hands would calm the redness. Why do you have to show everything so easily, Felix, wake up! he said to himself in his mind as he got to his office.
