"What do you think? Red fits me right?" Kumiko said.
"My bank account," Shirogane said whining.
"My 400 yen," Mikami said whining.
"And that's the first step to bankrupt a great detective," Kumiko said in an explanatory way.
"Anyway enough fooling around and tell me why you're here Shirogane."
"This isn't because It's summer holiday right?" Kumiko asked
"Yep. I came here for a request." Shirogane said.
"A request?" Kumiko asked.
"Yeah," Shirogane said
"About what?" Mikami asked
"Oh, It's about the story of the 8-foot-tall lady... Hachishakusama" Shirogane said.
"The eight-foot-tall lady?! Can I come with you?" Sukehiro asked excitedly.
"Still a mythology freak huh." Kumiko thought.
"That... is if Kumiko let's you." Shirogane said.
"Kumiko please can I come with him-"
"Why do you want me to come? There's more to it right?" Kumiko said
"Hmm? What do you mean? Of course, there isn't" Shirogane said in a teasing manner.
"This guy!" Kumiko thought.
"There's more to it," Mikami said.
"Anyway you coming or not? Although your girlfriend is begging you to come." Shirogane said looking at Sukehiro.
"Why are her eyes glimmering?" I thought.
"Well... I guess just this time" Kumiko said trying to hide my red face.
"Thanks Kumiko!" Sukehiro said hugging Kumiko.
"Too close! Why do you need to be too damn close?!" Kumiko thought.
"Well before you two lovebirds kiss we're going," Shirogane said while typing on his phone
"You do know we're not lovers right," Kumiko said.
They traveled to a house in Gokayama. While travelling Mikami asked a question.
"Oi why the hell are we investigating a Japanese story?!" Mikami shouted.
"Ah right. Despite being a boy you're a scaredy cat." Kumiko said.
"I am not a scaredy cat!" Mikami replied.
"What did she see to make her fall in love with this chicken?" Kumiko thought.
"Haha. That's because a murder case just happened and the culprit seems to be Hachishakusama herself." Shirogane said.
"And why the hell do you look so happy about that?!"Kumiko thought.
"What do you mean by that Shirogane-san?" Sukehiro asked.
"Oi Shirogane spills the beans already," Kumiko said.
"Right. A girl named Kasai Akira-san was in the forest collecting rocks for a souvenir but-"
"And let me guess. She went missing? Kumiko said.
"Yeah," Shirogane replied.
"A few days later the body was discovered with five piercing wounds in the shape of overgrown fingernails near a river." Shirogane continued.
"And you brought me here to make sure that it stays as a legend?" Kumiko asked.
"So you haven't rusted even if you haven't been solving cases for months," Shirogane said.
