Chapter 8: Crash and Burn

Kai POV
I couldn't find my phone. I looked everywhere, but it was nowhere to be seen. Well crabsicles! I guess I'll have to do without for today.
I pulled a nice comfy red jacket on and went outside to meet the others; Lloyd had returned by now. We had to check on Ninjago City and see if there were any other worms in the area. When we reached the streets, we got stopped for an interview. Right. Gayle, the news reporter, has an interview with us once a month. She asked us random stuff, but when she got to me, she asked me a question I did not think I'd be hearing.
"So, Kai. Rumor has it you have a new lover! An anonymous person posted that it was Cole, the earth ninja! Is this correct information?" My heart stopped. What? Who could've known that? The only people who knew were the ninja, Wu, and Skylor. And they'd never reveal a secret like that. "Kai?" I was still on air.
"Um... that is correct."
