lie after lie

it had been 2 weeks since the "meeting" with Mr.Fushiguro and his son.

neither he nor his wife have been to the office unless it's for important meetings.

you spent the week working from home.
Toji had told you it was okay to work from home because there were no meetings that required you to be there.

you felt lazy.
answering emails and sending emails.
calls.

working from your bed was nice though but you were missing the office. the people you worked with.

you and Toji still texted and called here and there.
but when he asked you to come over you were hesitant but always declined. why?

well of course the wife is a major reason. but something inside you made you feel like their marriage was loveless. that they just married to get married.

maybe it was money? maybe it was a business deal?
but no matter he was a married man.

a man with a wife who could love him.
grunting to that thought you get out of bed. stretching your body out from being in bed for a few hours.

you had finished up the last of the emails for the day it was finally 5 and you decided to grab some dinner with Nobara and Ireri.

you get ready and meet them
at the restaurant you all decided on.

(Author note: hey guys. this chapter will probably be shorter than the others I haven't had much time to write but I wanted to get a chapter out for you all :)! ) 

"don't you think it's a little sus"
Nobara says, taking a swig of the wine she had ordered.
you all had gotten on the topic of the whole "divorce" thing that happened recently.

" I don't know, Megumi was just set on it. he really won't take over if a divorce doesn't happen"
you say. twirling your fork into the white
sauced pasta that sat in front of you.

you wanted to know the reason. why was it so important? couldn't he just take over and then have someone else buy it? but that wouldn't make sense Toji would've bonded with the option on his own.

just as dead set Megumi was his father was also at the same crossroad.

"do you think it's a business-arranged wedding?" Ireri asks, you shrug. 

it could be that seems the most realistic, why would Toji cheat if he was happy and in love with his wife? 

you wanted to believe it was for the business and that they didn't love each other, or maybe she was cheating on him and he found out and now he cheats to get her back? 

no. that's stupid. 

"I want to believe a lot of things, reasons that seem realistic and the ones that don't." 

you say. the girls listening.

" I miss him you know? we barely talk and I know it's my fault I choose to ignore him or send him one-word texts here and there but it has to be like this, I hate it though I do" 

you state the feelings you feel finally taking hits on you. tears forming. no not here you think to yourself, not in this restaurant. 

you stand up and excuse yourself to the ladies' room.

making your way to the bathroom. you keep your head down.

" Baby.." 

you hear behind you, a hand grabbing your hand. you turn around fast to hit whoever just grabbed you but you are stopped.
