Luke's POV

As soon as I walk out of the parking lot, the fans start screaming again. I cross the road in order to get to my hotel when some fans are asking me for selfies again. I'm still way too excited about the fact that I saw Riley, so I decide to leave the fans and enter my hotel with some of Paul's help. I love my fans, but sometimes it all gets a little too much.

This hotel is the biggest hotel in our town. I mean, this town. I don't live here anymore of course.
When I was about 8 years old, I decided to drive a different road to school one day, and so I saw this hotel. I fell in love with it. I asked my parents if we could stay there, for 1 night only. It was too expensive, my dad said. But look at me right now, checking in to the actual hotel. How I wish my parents could actually join me right now. They would've liked this so much. Granted they are in another hotel, and not in our small, old house we used to own in the past.

My hotel room is a mess; pillows everywhere, toilet paper draped over my bed, balloons floating through the room. I don't even have time to ask myself how this happened, because suddenly Mikey jumps in front of me, throwing a balloon in my face.

'Surpriiiseee!' He yells.
'Wow what?' ask, a little confused.
'Well, I missed you and wanted to surprise you' Mikey says.
'Dude, you saw me yesterday? When did you get all mushy about missing me for a day?' I laugh.
'I know, just kidding, I wanted to annoy you' he says with a grin on his face.

I sigh. He knows I hate messy rooms and surprises.
I start cleaning all this shit up Mikey caused, when suddenly my door swings open. Mikey shrieks. It's Paul.

'Damn, you scared me Paul!' Mikey yells. I chuckle. Mikey still has that girls-like shriek which he makes when he gets scared.

'Time to go to the soundcheck guys, hurry up. I'll see you two outside in 5 minutes'

'Fine' Mikey responds. I nod. I guess I'll have to clean all this when we're back.

...

I look out of the window, fascinated by all the things I see. We drive past my old high school, playgrounds I used to go to when I was around 9 and houses from old friends. It all brings up so many memories. I wish I could go back.

The instructions we get when we arrive at the soundcheck are all very boring. We already heard this for about a million times. I wish we could just get on stage already and perform.
I dig into my pocket to get my phone when I realise it's not there. Weird. I'm like, the biggest phone addict ever. Why is my phone not in my pocket? I guess I must have left it in the hotel, or the car.
Riley has to wait for her text. Or maybe she already texted me?

'Hey Luke!' I hear Calum scream.
'What' I yell back.
'Isn't this your phone?'
I snap my head into the direction Calum's voice is coming from. Mikey and Calum are looking at the screen of my phone with a smirk on their face. Shit, what are they doing with my phone? And how did they even get my phone?

I rush towards them but they start running away, almost tripping over their own feet. I know I'm faster than them and when I finally reach the two losers I grab my phone out of Mikey's hand.
'What did you do?'
'Wow, chill Lukey. I only texted a random rumber I found in your phone.' Mikey says.
'You did what? Who was it? What did you send?' I ask, scrolling through the recent texts sent.
'I don't know, some Riley or something? You need to relax, I only said hey. It was just a joke.'
'You texted Riley? ' I sigh.
'Oeehhh who's Riley?' Calum says with a smug look.
'No one' I say and walk away.

Great. What do I do now? At least it's only a simple 'hey' and not some weird, creepy thing Mikey always says when he is in his 'joke mood'. I can of course send her something like 'I'm sorry, my friend sent that, not me'. But then it sounds like I'm not willing to text her. Let's just leave it like this. I'll just wait until she texts back. Maybe she won't even respond, we'll see.

...

I am exhausted from this day when we finally get back to the hotel at 3 AM. I still have to clean the mess that Mikey caused earlier this day.

When I'm finally done it's 4 AM and besides the fact that I'm very tired, I can't seem to sleep. A little grumpy, I check Instagram and twitter, and after a while I fall asleep with my phone in my hand.

Not a single text from Riley.
