The school bell had already rung.
I lazily gazed around the classroom and found out that half of my class had already left... Wait, what?!
I glanced to my wristwatch and it surprised me that our last class for today has really ended. I sighed, the time was awfully fast today and I miserably failed to notice it. No one else is there to blame except me of course, since I've been staring out the window almost the whole time...
Daydreaming, making up random scenarios in my head especially from what had happened earlier. It's been a habit of mine like changing and adding things here and there then wondering, what would happen if I did something else back there?
I quickly shrugged off those thoughts. This kind of habit sometimes kills me, to be honest.
As I was packing up my things back in my bag, I took a glance to his seat. He already left. I wonder where he is no—okay, just when and why did I start caring about him? He's the reason why I'm like this right now!
I rushed for the door after I finished packing. I don't wanna miss the bus! But as soon as I'm finally near the door, I flinched before it... Did I just gain a frickin' fear of doors?
Oh well, time to move. Fast!
Being new in this neighborhood, I gave my all in sprinting so I won't be left by the bus since this is the only know how to get home quickly and by not getting lost. I need to familiarize more with the surroundings here; I don't wanna do this every single day.
I was very lucky when I managed to get on the bus just before it leaves and as soon as I got in, I quickly scanned around for a vacant seat. The farthest right of the bus seems the only unoccupied so I went towards to it then sat.
Letting the cool air from the window brush against my skin, I felt quite relieved. I wiped off some beads of sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand then I felt a small... bump?!
I was so shocked that I traced for it again. Why didn't I notice this before?
As I was trying to remember, I cringed. The whole incident from earlier is coming right back at me again. Oh please, I've already have enough of it! I'm not gonna get over with this sooner, am I?
I furrowed my brows as anger clouded into my mind once more and so I unconsciously sputtered loudly, "Though seriously, what was that about? Saying sorry while laughing maniacally then walking off like that! I bet he doesn't even mean it. He's so weir—!"
"Hey. 'You okay there?"
My eyes widened and I looked to the opposite side from my seat, it's... it's him!
However, he's not looking at my direction. He's pretty focused playing with the consoles on his hands but I do know that he's talking to me since the seats in front of us were already empty.
So now, it's only the two us left here in the back of the bus.
"You've been babbling over there, you know. Which IS weird—ugh, fuck!" he suddenly groaned and quickly turned off the gadget. He probably lost in the game and got irritated. Then he turned to me, his face is almost covered by his messy bangs. I hardly even see his eyes but I know he's wearing glasses since there was a small glint of metal and... did I saw a smirk curved on his lips just now? My heart suddenly starts to race.
"Anyway, you should have seen your expression earlier." He muffled his laughter before he continued again, "It can be a nice new Amnesia custom face on that creature 'cause of that, good job!"
"W-What?!" I blushed furiously, was my reaction really that bad? I was very shocked during the incident. And it wouldn't happen if it weren't for him!
I glared at him and yelled, "C'mon, that's so mean! Don't compare me to those ugly monsters! An actual knight's helmet could have been handy right now so I could throw it directly to your fa—"
"Oh, you know that game?" there's a hint of surprise in his tone as he asked.
I gulped nervously; when he interrupted, that's the only time I've just realized that I've been yelling too much. "Umm yeah, why?"
He didn't answer my question yet he grinned at me, "Interesting."
I'm very confused right now and I can feel my face warming up...
Eventually, the bus came into a stop. He stood, "Alright, gonna go now. Bye, uhh...?"
He looks like he was trying to know my name so I just simply told it to him and he nodded, saying goodbye to me for the last time. I was going to ask his name too but then he started walking away with a quick pace since the bus is ready to set off again. I should have known, it was the perfect time to ask what his name is too.
A couple of minutes later, I finally got home. I tiredly walked up the porch steps then Vivi welcomed me with a tight hug as I opened the front wooden door, "(Y/n)! How was school?"
"Fuck, it was hell—"
I quickly bit my lip.
I looked down at her; she looked so surprised and puzzled. How could I be so careless to let those words came out from my mouth in front of a 5 year old little kid?
"I-I mean, fffuu...n! Fun, it was h-hella fun!" I tried my best to sound very jolly and then I feel so accomplished when I suddenly heard her soft chuckles.
"He seems like a nice guy, though."
"....? (Y/n)? Who?"
"....umm. G-Gotta head to my room now."
I can't believe I just said something like that all of a sudden! In front of Vivi, too! Keeping secrets between a 'lil kid can be terrifying. 'Cause kids will be kids. Dammit.
Lesson learned: keep your mouth shut when you're damn tired of everything or nothing good will come out of it. Just regrets, regrets everywhere.
