It was a perfectly normal night.

Well, as normal as it can get when you're a med student currently posted in the emergency ward. I internally groaned as another patient was wheeled in.

Don't get me wrong or anything, I really feel for the injured guy who is bleeding from at least three different places, but a girl can only take so much when she's been running on coffee for two days straight.

I haven't slept a wink since the day before yesterday. I should sue my uni for overworking its students. But I don't have the money or time for a lawsuit.

When I thought of how I would be spending my twenties as a teen, it was not in the hospital trying desperately to keep my eyes open and not just push the bleeding guy off the bed and take a nap on that comfy looking bed while simultaneously removing glass shards from a middle aged man's chest.

When I was finally done removing the shards, the head doctor asked me to get some tranquilizers, which just with my luck were out of stock so I had to go all the way down to the basement to get more.

Sighing I exited the ward and took the elevator to the basement. It was eerily quit and I suddenly regretted watching that newly released horror movie which I had seen last week.

The ding! which sounded as I reached the basement almost scared me shitless.

I trudged down the hallway and reached the door to medical supplies. I pulled it and winced when it made a screech similar to a dying cat.

I stepped inside hands trying to find the light switch when the door suddenly shut behind me.

I immediately turned and tried to open it but it just wouldn't budge.

Well, shit.

Just then I heard a sound somewhere behind me.

It strangely sounded like..........japanese???

I gulped and tried the door again. It didn't open.

The sounds were slowly getting louder, so I decided- fuck it.

What's the worst that can happen? I'll probably find a psycho weeb who's parents kicked him out of the house and he somehow, somehow ended up in the basement of a hospital to watch anime.

Not that I minded, with this crazy work schedule, I could probably use some slice of life anime and a will to live.

Though, the psycho weeb will probably be mad that I crashed his anime marathon.

What's the worst he can do, kill me?

I finally rounded the corner and found a laptop propped on a desk playing.......Naruto.

There was no psycho weeb in sight.

Maybe he had to go shit.

Or maybe my lack of sleep was making me deranged.

I started towards the laptop, it was playing the scene in which Naruto was fighting Neji in the chunnin exams.

God I loved this show, it was my first anime ever and also probably my favorite.

I watched Naruto give his speech about destiny and felt a small smile creep on my face.

Somewhere in the back of my mind, I knew how weird this whole thing was.

It was 2 AM, I was locked in a hospital basement, there was a laptop laying my favorite anime and probably a psycho weeb lurking somewhere about.

But not sleeping for two days straight does things to your mind.

Just when I was contemplating wether to give up on life completely and simply sit down on the floor and watch Naruto, my vision got hazy.

Neon colors danced in my vision.

Everything started spiraling.

wushappenin????

And then I was falling...

In my last conscious moments I thought maybe mom was right about touching some grass..............
