06. Unexpected Apologies

You walk out of the hall completely heartbroken. You don't give a damn about anything anymore. You somehow knew it's gonna be hard, but you didn't know it was actually impossible. You just walked until you reached home.

You removed the heels that you wore for him so that you can be face to face with him as much as possible, specially when you dance.

You bought an expensive dress only to wear it for him. You spent half of your entire day to look beautiful for him. Yet he ended up abandoning you. You never expected this night to turn out this way. You cried yourself to sleep.

The next morning, you skipped school. You weren't in the mood for facing people. You stayed home watching TV when you heard a knock on the door. You woke up and opened the door to find Murasakibara standing.

You could see a bit of guilt in his eyes. His arm clutched at the back of his neck and his body leaning down. As soon as you saw him, you were reminded of the horrible night that was once supposed to be the best one for you.

You closed the door at his face without hearing anything from him just like he hung up the call last night. After a few seconds, you again heard a knock on the door.

"[Your name]-chan!" His voice rose. It was the first time he said my name, ever.

"[Your name]-chan! No apology could ever change what happened yesterday. Still, i am sorry." He said from across the door as if he knew I was right there behind the door, listening to him.

"I ate a lot of snacks and then I drunk soda so I had to use the washroom. I felt tired and wanted to go home. I agree I was selfish enough to leave without telling you, yet I did. I shouldn't have hung up your call either. I apologise for that. I am very very sorry [Your name]-chan!. Forgive me please. I will share my favourite snacks with you too."

You couldn't believe all these words were coming from Murasakibara. For a moment, i thought all this apology was probably scripted by someone as kind as Himuro.

You still couldn't believe your ears. You wanted to believe his apology but also didn't want it to be that easy for him. So you just decided to be quiet until he leaves. You're in no mood to talk to him.

Next morning, you were walking to school with Nezuko. None of us ever mentioned the prom night. Nezuko was probably scared enough to talk about that. We just walked in silence.

The class was going on and you were bored as usual. You put your head down on the desk and looked towards Murasakibara. Only to your delight, he was already looking at you. Before you could drown into his eyes even from a distance, you turned your head to the opposite direction. You were in no mood to entertain him.

"[Your name]-chan! I know you heard it all yesterday. It's hard for me but I'll say that all again if you didn't hear it or if you simply want me to repeat it." Murasakibara said as he sat down beside you on the grass while Nezuko was gone to the washroom.

You didn't look at him. You looked the other way as if he wasn't there at all. You completely ignored him and you were sure enough that it did affect him.

"Atleast say something! Let me know what you want to hear and I'll say it." You can't believe a man like Murasakibara could be this confronting to anyone.

"What you did yesterday is beyond apologies." You blurted out without thinking twice.

"Alright." He said after a moment of silence.

"Our basketball team captain is throwing his birthday party tomorrow night. And all the guys are bringing a partner with them. Muro-chin is going with Nezuko-chan. If you agree to come with me, I'll go too." He spoke again.

You were moved, moved beyond your limits. One moment, this guy completely abandons you without thinking twice and the other moment, he's pouring his heart and soul into apologising.

"I'll be waiting tomorrow night. For You." He said before leaving.
