Squirrelflight: Two toms, one she-cat

Squirrelflight's POV

I sat by the lake, thinking about today and what happened that caught my attention..........

Flashback........

I was sitting with Ashfur by the lake. I know how he feels about me, but I don't like him that way. I love Brambleclaw much more than I could ever love Ashfur. There was an awkward silence. I could tell Ashfur was thinking about something. I just couldn't put my paw on it. Then, Ashfur broke the silence. "Squirrelflight, I love you. I can't live without you. Please tell me you love me too," Ashfurs voice was so ....... loving. "I'm sorry Ashfur," I said "I don't like you that way. I love someone else," I was very sorry. "Who is that certain someone?!" he asked, suddenly becoming very angry. I sat there for a moment then the name came off my tongue. "Brambleclaw," I said, nervously. Thankfully, Brambleclaw burst through the bushes, his eyes full of ......... was that..... jealousy. He became even more angry and said "what are you doing here, fox-dung ?" "I just came to see how your relationship is going," he sounded so heart broken. "I don't care though. I love you, Squirrelflight!" after that, he ran away with tears streaming down his face. Ashfur then licked my cheek and said " He wasn't for you anyway, but can we still be?" he asked, longingly. I suddenly became enraged and screamed "I don't love you! I love Brambleclaw! Why is that so hard to understand!?" I ran away,searching for Brambleclaw.

End of Flashback.......

Here I am now. I haven't found him. I start to cry. Then I hear a rustle in the bushes. I turn around and see Brambleclaw. Before he could run away, I ran up and licked his cheek. He stared at me, surprised. I did see something else in those amber eyes of his. love. I saw love. I stared at him. Looking deep in those amazing amber eyes and said "I love you." very quietly. He smiled and said " I love you too," just as quietly as I did. That was the happiest day of my life until......

6 moons later...........

There, I had 4 kits suckling for milk. Brambleclaw was with me. We looked at the first kit. It was a tom with Brown tabby fur, like Brambleclaw's and green eyes, like mine. His name was Brackenkit. Another kit was a she-cat with brown tabby fur, one white paw and tail-tip, and blue eyes. Her name was Cinnamonkit. The next kit is a she-cat and has black,brown, and white spots,fluffy tail, and amber eyes. Her name will be Amberkit. The last kit is a tom. With fiery orange tabby fur and amber eyes. His name is Flamekit.
