Chapter 2. Continued...

I made it to my classes just in time, save for a few disapproving looks from teachers as I quickly entered my first lecture and took my seat...I sighed quietly in relief as the familiar droning of my teacher made me fall into a deep daze...."Excuse me...? May I take this seat...?" I blinked into wakefulness as I turned to the deep monotone voice "Y-Yeah, sure..." I was suprised to see the owner of the voice was deathly pale and had the darkest eyes I've ever seen...The exhaustion underneath his eyes only served to make the black orbs more shadowed, he didn't seem to pay any mind. I looked out the window and side glanced at the strange teen as he sat in a position that only be described as cat-like with his knees close to his chest and his bare feet wiggling against eachother like a child. I was curious to see what else this eccentric boy had to offer...'Is he going to sprout wings next...?' I felt a smirk tug at the corner of my lips as I watched the other boy scratch the back of his crazed raven-black hair....'Does he even comb his hair...?' I mentally sighed, I shouldn't be judging him...I'm sure he has his own reasons and me of all people should know what it's like to be judged based on appearance...I glanced back at the teen silently only to find that our eyes met once more and I suddenly felt myself drown in embarressment---'Did he realize I've been watching him?' Instead of glaring at me or simply looking at me as If I were strange, he offered me a small smile...My eyes widened at the gesture as I immediately returned it with one of my own. "I am Ryuuzaki, what may I call you...?" he spoke quietly as to not alert the professor. "I'm Yagami Raito..." I offered another smile as I saw him nod in understanding "Hm...So your name is Light....?" I looked at him in suprise and nodded, not many people in Japan were able to pronounce the English phrase for my name but I had long grown accustomed to it...This boy was different, he fluently translated my name... "Yes, I'm suprised you know the English translation..." Ryuuzaki smirked slightly and played with his bottom lip "Hm...Japanese isn't my first language, it is one of many..." he whispered slyly as I regarded him with wide eyes. The lecture was over more quickly than I would have liked as I saw Ryuuzaki smile at me over his shoulder "What class does Light-kun have next....?" I found myself mirroring his smile once more "I have advance calculus..." The other boy nodded in amusement "As do I...."
